Sounds great when you buy it, but when you submit a claim, you suddenly get an education about all the restrictions. And NationWide takes forever to respond to your claim!!

what part of "read the fine print" haven't you understood? everything is listed out on the forms that you sign. if you signed them without reading ever last word....then you can only blame yourself.

as most will sit and read it all, take it home and read it and some even pay their attorneys to read it and give them the gist.

I don't mean to sound rude but here is what insureds hear when you explain to them about exclusions in the policy

BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH

They don't listen and then when there is a claim they don't understand why it isn't covered. Some people say they have been paying for insurance for years and now it isn't covered. Well, the money that you paid for years was not paying for that particular coverage. You never paid one red cent for flood coverage (just using an example) under your homeowners policy. Then when something happens people don't understand how the company can take their money for years and then don't pay out on claims.

Sorry, had to vent there.

They'd probably say you're lucky they're even considering your claim--many people who got hurricane damage aren't being paid their claims and people who have paid insurance premiums for years are being dropped because of acts of God.

Sometimes it's hard to believe that insurance is there to protect you and you'd be worse off without it, eh?

You know the answer--they want you to buy their stuff so they can make money. Then they slap you with restrictions so you'll get frustrated and not push them to pay your claim.

Bad business! BAD!!!!

You are so wrong. It is YOUR duty to actually READ the policy you sign and pay for. Don't play the blame game here.

you received a policy that totally explains all the things that are covered and aren't covered, you should sit down and read it, nobody anywhere makes a policy that covers everything
