How could i find someone if the only information i have is his car licence plate number ?
I went to the DMV & the Police dep., but they don't give information.
Any suggestion of what i should do ? Does anyone knows how to get the information on line ?
I read a story of a battered wife who is looking for her babies father who changed his name not to be found, but she found him because he still had his old car licence plate number. Thank you

I buy a new car. The road tax (current licence disc) expires on 28.02.07 but the MOT expires on 10.04.07. What should I do? Should I get the MOT done before 28.02.07 and buy a road tax then? Or can I wait because I will lost 1.5 months MOT?

A guy drove into the back of my car - His fault. I found a mechanic who will replace the bumber and hammer out the small dent for £100 (well next to nothing, but he said to tell the guy that figure!- I want to settle this easily. UNFORTUNATELY, that guy that was at fault was driving a 'Company Car' and they want to go through their insurance to get it fixed - What do i do, will this affect my 'No Claims' - i've never had to do this before - Any advice would be great!

And why are they painted the same color as the car? Doesn't make sense that they have plates on the car, but they cover them so you can't read it. I know it's illegal for you to cover the license plate. so I just don't understand why they do this.

Ok here's the deal. I financed a car through a dealership (1st time buying a car) and got completely taken. I didn't understand the paperwork, and the person selling told me that the GAP insurance would take care of me if the car was totaled. What I failed to realize was I needed to have full coverage to have the GAP insurance!! I only have liability insurance.

I totaled the car. I still owe $8000 to the bank. I've had the car for 8 months and the bank has never come after me to get full coverage insurance; I'm not sure why. I haven't told the bank that I totaled the car, and I'm trying to pay the loan off as quick I can. In the mean-time I've kept the liability insurance on it, so as not to alert the bank, but I would rather drop the insurance since it is just wasted money at this point. I also want to drop the GAP insurance and the extended warranty they sold me, but again I don't want to alert the bank that I don't have full coverage.

Any advice appreciated!!!

Person A has no car, therefore no car insurance borrowed car from B.. Person B has insurance on their car. Person C (who's at fault) also had no insurance. Cop at scene (and 2 other claims adjusters) said Person B's insurance pays and goes after person C for the $$.
Person B contacts their insurance co and is told, No we're not paying, person A has to pay.
What is the correct answer, and please give reference. Accident occured in CA, if that makes a diff.

Yesterday, I was rear-ended while in traffic on the freeway. After a long hit-and-run story (I'll spare you the details), the highway patrol finally found the other driver. He claimed that he recently purchased the car from a third party and that the car is still insured under the previous owner's name. The highway patrol officer confirmed that the insurance card was up-to-date. The driver did not, however, purchase his own car insurance. What do you think the chances are that the car is still insured? I really don't want to report this to my car insurance unless there's another insurance company who's willing to front the bill. I'd hate for my premiums to go up despite the fact that I was not at fault. I'd appreciate any insight.

Basically someone two cars ahead of me made a sudden stop, the woman in front of me had to stomp the breaks in order to stop from hitting her, I was not so lucky. Me being in a F-150, it's not so easy to stop on a dime, so I hit the woman in front of me, causing minor damage to the back bumper of her car.

The car is not hers, it is a rental car, and I was told by a few people that because the damage was minor, their insurance company would probably not go after my insurance company for money. The Police were called and a report was filed. Is there any chance at all my insurance company will not find out about this, I really can't afford the rate hike. Am I screwed?

My car was involved in an accident. I claimed my own insurance and the insurance decided to write it off and my car was valued at £5,000. However, the insurance company said that the net amount I get should be £5,000 minus compulsory and voluntary excess? What is a compulsory excess?

Say on a whim i am out of town with my rental car, i am covered with the insurance for a stolen car, and my rental ends up getting stolen. Would the rental car company be able to gps track the car down? Or would the police just have to handle the matter?

I got a speeding ticket as well as a driving without a license back in mid 2005. My insurance company just found out about it and chose not to renew my policy forcing me to go elsewhere. Or else they would charge double my previous premium to go with Geico Indemnity instead of just Geico which i had. I have an even bigger predicament. I had a Dui arrest dec 2006, got my license revoked for 3 months and my case got dismissed & refiled & i then got convicted on it. Now i have a speeding, driving w/o license & now a Dui. Im pretty much screwed on insurance for the next 5 years at least. My question is i have my license back & a brand new car with my name on the registration & i was curious if its necessary 2 have my name on the insurance? My bf was willing 2 have the insurance under his name so i wouldnt have to pay an arm and a leg for insurance. But would i get in trouble if i get pulled over god forbid 4 any reason & my names not on the insurance? Would i b coverd in an accident?
