I would get the road tax when it is due and get the MOT done when that is due
You don't loose anything as long as your car is legal on tax, MOT and insurance
Also, if the car is brand new it doesn't have to have an MOT for the first 3 years

Get the Road tax before the end of feb 07, as long as the mot has more than 1 full month on it you can get your road tax!!
To get a car mot'd you dont offically need to have road tax on the vehicle,
you dont loose the mot by getting the road tax earlier either.
so then get you mot done anywhere from the 10/03/07 to 10/04/07 (because you can have this done up to 1 month early and dont loose anything, they foward date it) thats along as you tell them!

You can get a new tax and your MOT will be still be valid until 10 April 2007. Dont get your MOT til the due date in April and still tax your car at the end of this month.

I'm not sure you understand how the MOT and car TAX works.
You will not lose your MOT just because you get new car tax.
Get your new tax for 1/3/7 adn take your car for an MOT the week before 10 April

Get the road tax at the end of February with the current MOT. Then in April get the MOT. As long as the MOT is current, it doesn't matter how long is left on it.

just buy the tax no more than two weeks before it expires, using your current mot and insurance certificate, then mot your car no more than a month before that expires, any time over will just be added to your tax or mot-and you will not loose anything.

if you do you road tax 2 weeks before the expiry date and yur MOT on the week that it expires on. If you do them both at the same time you will lose 1.5 months of MOT. YOur MOT and road tax starts on the date it is reissued to you (i.e. when you pay is when it starts).

You could do your MOT early but don't need to - you just need to make sure you have tax and an MOT - they both need to be current and valid.
