How could i find someone if the only information i have is his car licence plate number ?
I went to the DMV & the Police dep., but they don't give information.
Any suggestion of what i should do ? Does anyone knows how to get the information on line ?
I read a story of a battered wife who is looking for her babies father who changed his name not to be found, but she found him because he still had his old car licence plate number. Thank you

Legally, you can't - it violates the privacy laws.

If you're looking for child support or child support help, you can go to your local district attorney's office, and give THEM the information, and they can try to trace the plate - however, it's pretty likely that they didn't update the DMV with their address.

Regarding the name bit. I find it hard to believe you're 7 weeks pregnant by a guy that you don't know his name - because he changed it in the past 7 weeks. It costs men THOUSANDS of dollars to change their name, and usually takes a minimum of six months.

The police will never give you such information unless you also some sort of police, government official, or have some sort of clearance to do background investigations. You won't be able to get the info through internet either as it is illegal. The lady your referring to would have had to have gone through a lawyer to get that information and they have legal sanction to do this because it pertains to her case.

You will not be able to get this information solely on your own because you are looking for someone. Best thing to do would be to go to an investigator and pay to do have this person located. There are a lot of places that do these kinds of investigations where you just want to locate and old friend or family member. They have the legal means and resourses to do these types of searches.

If your searching for your childs father then go through a lawyer, they will locate the person legally and get the ball rolling on child support and an other legal issues you have with him.

You can't being an ordinary citizen. If you worked for the government (social services/welfare), then you would have access. But, you don't state a reason why you would want to find this person. Try hiring a private investigator if you are that serious about finding this person.
