You wont immediately experience an increase during your current policy period, yet upon renewal of this policy you very well may. Depending on your current Insurance carrier that could be a very slight increase over your total renewal Policy or it could be a "whopper", again it will depend on your current carrier, the history you guys have with them and so on. It looks to me like you have a really great rate right now. But I'm In Dallas Texas where our insurance rates can be outrageous.
My advice would be to have as much detail on hand about the amount of this claim including any damages that might have been done to another party including exact dates of claims. Keep that handy for your records. When you get your renewal bill take a good look at it, if it's too high try shopping around for a better rate that includes all the info you saved from this claim. Once again your current carrier may not go up at all or only slightly just depends on who it is, so just be ready.
Hope this helped, good luck and take care.

I personally wouldn't worry too much. I would let insurance handle the accident if the amount is as high as you say. I would guess it might go up maybe 50 to 100 bucks but when you break that down into 4000 dollars it would take quite awhile before you would pay that out yourself. Good Luck and besides that what insurance is for!

If you had $4000 damage to your car then there is damage to the other vehicle, it may not be obvious to you at first glance but it is there. You didn't say where you live or if you have "no fault" insurance. You also haven't said if there are any provisions with your insurance company for safe driving allowances. If so where do you fall in that range? Are the vehicles insured in your mothers name or yours? Too many questions to give you any kind of answer that would give you some kind of honest answer. Sorry, but that's the way it is.

You'll have to ask your agent. Depending on your policy and how it's written, it could be anywhere between nothing (if first accident forgiveness applies) to a couple thousand dollars (if the whole policy gets rerated).
