They just want to make sure that when you get in a car , they want to be able to put that with your permanet record or if you get a ticket for speeding or something. Then they can tell you you need to take your driving test again. Also want to be able to call the insurance if you get in a bad car and could reach the phone and someone on the road calls 911... the police will come look at you and they'll send someone back to look at your records and the copy of your drivers licence and the copy of the insurance card and your insurance card to make sure you hadn't changed any of that.

and i don't know how I know this stuff even so I'm only 12. I guess I asked my dad and mom a lot of questions about lotterys and driving a car stuff like that i guess and about the government...I want to be very eduacated.. so don't believe everything I say... most of it...yeah! lol! Also I live in Calfornia so i don't exactly know the rules where you live.

I think DMV requires two forms of ID, like your social security card and your birth certificate, and then proof of insurance. I live in NC too. Go Tarheels!!!!

Got a piece of mail addressed to you? Proof of address. Carry you social security card with. If you need it, you'll have it.
