My husband just got a ticket for "obstruction of view" for having his GPS stuck to his windshield (right under the rear view mirror). It SUPPOSED to be there. Its the only place it CAN go (its only 4x4 inches). Does anyone know if it was right for the cop to ticket him for that? If not, what should we do?

I have a 98 Honda Civic...and nobody can seem to tell me what is wrong. When I put the key in the ignition, the car starts...but shortly after it just cuts right back off. It only does this when it is hot or warm outside. During the winter it rarely did it, sometimes if you tap the key quick enough it will cut back on, on its own. I have to make sure the air is on full blast before I pull off because if it isn't my car will cut off again, Sometimes we have to hold they key in place to prevent it from cutting off. My car was doing this last year..and it turned out that the thing on the battery needed to be replaced..so we did that, and was ok for a few months but the car is cutting off again, so I am definitely believing it has something to do with the ignition...I took it to a mechanic and they plugged it up to some machine..but they didn't find out anything. What do you think it is so that next time I go to the mechanic I tell them exactly what to look at.

Hi,
Recently while installing some subwoofers in my car, I slipped and put a tiny tear in the cone of a 10" vibe black air.

Would this affect it alot, and if so is it possible to rectify?

Thanks

Hi, i have found what appears to be a decent driving company called LDC, well their website looked impressive, but thats what its designed to do! So has anyone here taken lessons with them? If yes what did you think?

AND

Has anyone taken driving lessons in a Mini? Is it any good as a learners car? As it has a 1.6 engine, which i know is nothing to most of you, but im a learner, so would that be too much? Should i aim for a corsa which has like a 1.2 or something? Any one had any experience learning to drive with a mini? What did you think?

i've been toying with the idea of maybe going for an older car when i turn 17 in August because firstly insurance will be ceaper (although still stupid price), also i don't really thin kthat newer cars (00-) are particularly different from each other while older cars (1985 backwards) are all different and could also provide me with a project, the restoration and modding. Whats your thoughts ???

I have a 1989 325i BMW. It was a 1 owner car, very well taken care of, garaged ect..
I bought it 5 years ago. I took it to my mechanic for a driveshaft replacement and 7 weeks later & $5500.00 lighter he returned my car informing me I need a steering rack cuz mine has an internal leak. Without informing me he replaced 400.00 worth of hoses & belts, a new muffler, which I did not need. He did call to let me know that he was replacing the cam, rocker arms.I told him not right now & he informed me it was too late, the head was on it's way back from the machine shop. Also he replaced timing belt, water pump, control arms & sway bar link.
What I want to know is was all this work really necessary? My car was running great,
my oil pan had a little leak & my head gasket was weeping but we're talking about a 1989 325i. It books out TOPS 4000.00. I only drove to store & back. Is this normal to have all this work done on this type of car with 169,000 miles & very well kept??

The positive and negative wires leading to my replacement hi power coil both run the car regardless of which way round they are wired I know the white wire is negative and I know which is the negative side of the coil.

Does anyone know if it matters which way round they are are and why if so it has to be correctly wired. I dont want to find I've burnt something out without knowing what damage it may cause.

I will be fitting a petronix ignitor electronic ignition to the car to do away with the points so I will have another two wires to connect to the coil aswell. This I dont have a problem with at present.

many thanks for any information which may put my mind at rest

I have a Kicker subwoofer amplifier monochannel ZX300.1 and the RMS is 400x1. I have two 12" DCVR12 subs that are connected together so the box only has one speaker hook up + and -. the RMS for the speakers is 600. i do believe this isn't good for the speakers but i would like it if someone could explain to me why besides it might ruin my subs or is the system all right. i bought everything a little over a month ago and just got a chance to put it all together and in the car. Circuit City told me the amp would be fine for the subs but after i hooked everything up i was looking at the booklets and i once heard something about RMS and how the amp has to be at least what the subs are at. Could someone please tell me if this is all right or not and explain the whole RMS thing to me. Thanks.

I have a 1999 Ford Ranger P/U with a 3.0 liter V6. It is a "flex fuel" engine that can use E-85 ethanol fuel. The manual is confusing whether I can just use E-85 anytime after using regular gasoline or is there something that must be done before? To my knowledge, there is no E-85 sold in my area but I was just curious if I could use it if the possibility arose. Thanks
