I don't understand why they have tachometers in auto tranny cars. Wouldn't this space be better used for a cluster of gas mileage gauge, temperature, alternator, temperature, etc...?

Tachometers were originally developed for letting the driver know when to shift (manual transmission cars)

I've been looking to buy a new car and have been looking at equipment lists etc. I noticed "Xenon headlights" for a few cars, whereas other manufacturers had "Bi-Xenon headlights". Is there a difference? If so, what is it?

i have a 92 E that was passed down to me... since I have had it the a/c has never worked. Neither does the front defroster or the heater.
If I turn it on by the controller, I can hear that its turning on (Im hearing it power on, I supposed you would say: Im not hearing actual air/fan).
Someone suggested to me that they were pretty certain it was my blower motor that was out, because thats what would affect all three (heater, defrost, ac). I had my mechanic I go to check it out.. and he cleaned it out and put it back in, to see if that would work.
It worked for literally a day and then stopped.. since, I bought a used one from a junkyard, but my mechanic put it in and it's not working. Now the place I bought from tests all parts before sending...

so is there a chance that it could be something else, and if so any ideas what? Or does anyone here know for certainty that it is the blower motor...and maybe the one I got in the mail was damaged during shipping or something..

Hello all,
I have removed my brake rotors or discs for facing it.I removed it and disconnected the sensor.After facing the discs i again reconnected teh sensor and fixed all properly.No I am getting a message like BRAKE LINING in my dash board.

How to reset that..i dont want to see the message again what I shud do?pls advice

The black rubber which seals seems to be wearing thin around the rear-seat windows. I can see some areas where the rubber looks to have worn.. probably from water channelling around on the bottom of the rubber.

Those rear-seat windows don't open at all... they are just housed in place by the black rubber.... but water seems to have worn it in places.. and it's dry and looking like it could thin out in places. It's a VW Golf MKIV 2003.

Is there any sort of lubrication I could apply to the black rubber to better protect it from water... to make it less likely the black rubber will rot away in coming years?

Hi,
I urgently need an advice. I helped my BF to buy a car around 6 months ago. He had a low credit score and I had a very good credit score, so I was able to finance the car in my name. Legally, the car is mine obviously, but he's been paying for it ever since. I've never payed for it myself, since the car is his. It's a 2006 Nissan Xterra with only 2,500 miles on it. We owe $21,400 on the car as of today, but my boyfriend & I broke up, and I'm afraid that i may get screwed over by him in terms of him not paying the car payments. I'm a student at university without any income, so I can not make payments on the car as you can see. I've been trying to sell it the last few months, but it's not selling. The whole thing was a mistake.
Help me please. Im in a desparate situation right now and I don't know how to get out of this. Can I just take the car back to the dealership saying that I can no longer pay for it? I'm willing to accept the fact that my credit score will be affect

So I'm looking for a new head unit to put in my car. There are a few requirements, as well as a few "nice" features that i could live without if need be.

First, the "musts":
1. Single DIN.
2. Plays MP3 CDs.
3. Supports RDS (radio station info).
4. Around 200w maximum power output.
5. A "clean" all-black look to it (ie, no chrome knobs, multicolor lights, etc).

Now, the "would be nice to have" features:
1. USB port.
2. RCA input/output.
3. Some kind of bus connector for perhipherals (CD changer, iPod, Satellite receiver, etc).
4. Somewhat high resolution screen, ie, not the generic single-line digital readout, multi-line readable text is preferred.

My vehicle (Jeep Liberty) has an aqua/green sort of illumination to it, so it would be nice if I could find a head unit that has the same.

If anyone could give up some suggestions, that would be great.

I'm tired of seeing questions posted about these things, so i hope to answer many of them with this. The following projects are not worth the time, and money it would take to achieve them. It would make more sense just to sell your current car and buy one with the options you seek.
1. Changing a car with an Automatic Transmission to a Manual Transmission.
2. a V6 to V8 engine swap.
3. Turning a two wheel drive truck into a 4 wheel drive truck.

I cant get in any of the power band except 1st or 3rd sometimes , i have done everything you can think of went through 13 spark plugs changing them and looking at them. I have also replaced the top end kit and replaced the carburetor, i'm all out of ideas. COULD IT BE THE POWER VALVE. PLEASE HELP!!!!
