My 1988 Electra T-Type came with the auto leveling rear air shocks. Always worked great. However, we noticed that after a tire dealer lifted the car to rotate tires, the rear shocks went to maximum height, and did not reset to normal ride. I've heard there is some way to reset the auto-level to normal ride height, but I don't know how. This is a really cherry 88 Buick with all red leather and great features. I want to keep it all original.

Hi, I have a few questions about cars:

1. I just recently changed the started in my 96 chevy cavalier automatic (3-speed) and it cost me 140 for the thing and 40 for the labor, I'm wondering if the price made sense or not.

2. Is it possible to change my all-manual windows to power windows (96 cavalier still)? so I can also install the car alarm. If yes, how much is reasonable and where can I get them done?

3. I have the same question as 2 about cruise control of the same car, where can I get it done? And how much money is reasonable?

4. Carfax charge people 25 bucks to get informations about a car and I think that is a lot of money, so I'm wondering if anybody knows a better site or way to check the background of an used car.

5. Where can I get my windows tinted and how much is reasonable?

6. Where can I get a thing to make my cupholders bigger (a cup holder which has a bottom that fits the car's holder but has a bigger and taller top to hold large sodas and etc).

A dealership near me has a car I want to test drive. The problem is, I'm not ready to buy *right* this second. I may possibly be ready in a few weeks, but I wanted to get behind the wheel since the car is so close to me and I've never tested this model before. Also, the car is a little pricey, but I would be willing to buy it if I got a good deal on it. Is it wrong for me to test it even though I'm not ready yet nor entirely sold on that exact one?

I don't want the dealer's sticker price, or whatever amount they stick on the windows, I want the real price of the car.

I purchased a car in April of last year. I was already married but had not yet legally changed my name, so the car was put under my maiden name. I moved to NY and while registering my car I decided to fix the last name while I was at it. The DMV would not allow it because the title was in my maiden name, even though I presented my marriage certificate! They said because the marriage certificate was dated in 2005 and the car was purchased in 2006 it didn't make sense. I explained about not changing my name right away but they still would not allow it. I think this woman just didn't know what the hell she was doing and after waiting there for so long I was frustrated and left. Was she just out of her mind and should I try to go back to a different DMV on long island, or is she right?

I found it wrapped in a cloth at back of a cupboard in the garage.... must have been there years. I don't have a hex key for it... I worked it open by hand.

Is it a medieval car jack/lift or something else please? Could it be for brake maintenance?

Thanks if you can advise. :) (g2g back to work.. will hopefully find out answer in a few hours when I get back - thanks)

My mom has been shopping for a good used car for me & we haven't had much luck. Just recently we bought a Honda that seemed to be just fine with the exception of a few minor problems, that is, until we actually started driving it. Now she's frustrated because she had to spend about a thousand bucks on repairs & now they're telling her there's a problem with the time belt (whatever that is) & now she just wants to get it fixed & sell it. We thought it was a good deal since it only had over 80K miles on it. So what should we do next time we look for a car?

I am planning to purchase a new car for my son. Since he is contributing to the down payment with earnings from his summer job, I want to add his name to the title as a co-owner. With his name on the title, can I still hold the primary insurance coverage with him as a secondary driver, or will he have to get his own policy?
