but finally 2007 gt and swaped in a a teksid block from shm. it's a great thing..... can hold up to 1200 hp.
costed around $10 000 with instalation and exchange.
in 2007 mustangs GT (V8) have been modified to fit in the 5.4 v8 onto a chassis so that a sheby can go into production. i've never seen a v6 k members tho... i think u will need to replace em as weel as the motor mounts and all that....

It depends on what year you have as to how much it's going to cost. You may check out Mustang Parts Specialties website. They are a Mustang only salvage yard and they may offer a conversion package. They do for switching automatic transmissions to manual.
I believe that the transmissions from 94 and 95 will work with the 6 or 8 but not sure about 96 and later when they switched to the mod motors.
I have seen a conversion done on a 95 from a V6 to V8 and it's not that big of a deal if you can do the labor yourself and don't have to pay for that.
1993 was the last year that they used two different sized rear ends in Mustangs the 7.5 on 4 cylinder cars and the 8.8 on V8 cars. Since then all Mustangs use the 8.8 axle. The only difference being that the V6 cars don't have the traction lock. You can swap the carrier with a tracion lock unit without having to change the whole rearend.

It can be done if you are mechanically inclined and it does have advantages, the most being the insurance company will see the VIN and it will be insured under the V6 rate. I know this isn't exactly honest but with the porkin you get from the insurance man, who cares. Now as for the swap, the best way is to buy a damaged V8 car so you have everything and swap all the wiring, driveline, ECM, cooling, suspension, fuel system, ect. The car will in a sense become a GT then and buy parts in the future will not be a problem since everything will be Ford. If you try to take shortcuts you usually end up with a cobbled up mess that is unreliable and no one wants to work on because of it. If the magnitude of this job is beyond your ability or resources you would probably be farther ahead to just buy the GT and get it over with.

It would be far cheaper, easier, and more reliable to trade the V6 car in for a V8. Honestly, with EFI and computers in cars these days, a swap like that could cost 5000 dollars easy. If the car is a 1960's model, then it will not be too difficult, and will basically cost the price of the engine and trans.

Quite a bit has to be changed out. The question is will you be doing the work or paying someone else to do it?
Beyond the engine you'll need a new computer (possible harnessing too). The V6 Tranny needs to be replaced along with the brakes, so they can support the power. Your speedometer will be way off so some rear end work will have to be done as well. It's gonna cost ya.

Assuming you need to get a donor motor vehicle or your junk backyard is golden, it shouldnt be overly high priced. in case you have the equipment, be responsive to how, etc, can rather get a v6 physique, and throw the engine in with some modifications of course. I did. I actually have a ninety seven v6 physique in spite of if it has a 2003 4.6 in it. like it. And it rather is much less costly for coverage too. it will save you funds interior the long-term.

It would be quite expensive because you'd have to change the transmission, and some electronics as well. Probably cost a few thousand.

Not worth it - cheaper and more reliable to just sell what you have and buy what you want.
