NO! You do NOT need a DL to title or register a vehicle in your name! This is a widely held misconception. Even some trolls at the DMV aren't aware of it. Think of it though -- how could a company regsiter a vehicle, since only natural persons can get a license?

My uncle was a quad and had numerous vehicles registered in his name -- including a couple in TX -- though he hadn't had a DL since the early 1970s.

You do need proof of insurance to register it. And you do need a DL to DRIVE it. But you do NOT need a DL to REGISTER or TITLE it!

Yes, you must also show proof of liability.
