This motor is pretty much designed for 14 bhp, therefore it isn't "restricted" as such.
To get major improvements would entail :
New CDI
New Cam
Ported head, flowed and skimmed head.
Hi compression piston.
Bigger valves.
Bigger Carb
New exhaust tuned for higher revs.

As the old saying goes: "there ain't no substitute for cubes" want more power? Buy a bigger bike.

It is not restricted, in fact they were designed to produce 12 BHP and I bet yours only has about 10 BHP.
Clean the Air filter, check the points if it is one with points, and check the cam chain tension as this affects the timing on early ones, check valve clearances and if its no good get a 185 Head Carb, Barrel and Piston and have your ocal engineering shop remove the 185 liner and fit it to the 124cc barrel so that Mr Plod thinks it is a 125 fit the other bits and have fun. My friend ran a 175 for 2 years after we stamped the Barrel 124 and changed the registration document, but a 125 honda Twin, CB125ss the 13000 rpm one as exactly as fast .

I had a NS125RK and there really isn't much you can do. There is a washer in the exhaust that can be removed and something can be done to the card to allow more fuel consumption. Is it a 2-stroke engine? If it is when was the last time you had the exhaust system de-carbonised? The build up of carbon really does slow 2-stroke bikes down and when I had it cleaned for the first time the power increase was unbelievable. This would be more effective than de-restricting.
If the bike has been de-carbonised recently then take it to a bike repair shop and ask them about derestricting. Also you can buy racing reeds and stuff to increase acceloraqtion, plus larger sprocket on the back wheel will increase accel but you will lose top end.
Ride safe!

The UK CBR125 is built to produce no more than 14.4 BHP. It is not built as a more powerful motor that has then been "restricted". If you want more power, then you will have to pop over to France and buy a Cylinder Head, Cam, Inlet stub, Carb, Airfilter box, Piston, ECU and Exhaust. Cost? About £1500. Oh and don't forget all the new gaskets, O rings and labour costs. What you will have though is a bike that is illegal to ride on L plates and will invalidate your insurance. Tip: Pass your test and get a bigger bike.

They are made to produce less than 12bhp,they havent been restricted so to get an increase in power will mean a new exhaust, carb, headwork etc,it would be cheaper 2 stick an xl 185 head on it if u can find 1

Forget about changing the pipe.
This will just make another NOISE MAKER of your little bike.

It has 14 hp and if you spend $250 on a pipe it will have 15. Truely, you won't even feel it, but your neighbors will HEAR it and you will piss even more people off toward all motorcycles.

True story.

K&N airfilter, re-jet the carb, and add a good high performance exhaust system. Check Thumper Racing for advice.
