depends on whether shoes or pads... shoes typically are non hydraulic and do not require bleeding (mechanical adjustment)...
pads typically are hydraulic and require a bit more patiences.

there is a little nipple looking hex nut thingie on the caliper with possibly a rubber cover??? pop the cover off and get a wrench that fits the hex of the nipple. press down on the brake lever and loosen the hex ... brake fluid should dribble out the top with bubbles... when you reach the bottom of the stroke of the brake lever, tighten the hex BEFORE LETTING PRESSURE OFF THE PEDAL, repeat, repeat, repeat until there are no more bubbles and your brakes should have a firm pressure on the brake pedal... if this re-occurs, simply repeat the bleeding of bubbles process but just remember to tigthen the hex before letting pressure off the pedal as it will suck air back in to the master cylinder or the brake piston...
