I am new to the boat world, and I just purchased a 27' sail boat in San Antonio TX, and I would like to see what would be the most cost effective way to transport it to Houston TX.

You may check with some of the boat docks in the area of the Boat, or in Houston around Galveston Bay. They may rent a trailer for Sailboats. It does require a special trailer because of the Keel. There are also boats transports that do this and again the Boat Docks may know who to contact. But, it could get expensive. I know a 27' can be trailered even with a fixed keel. Also, if you do this yourself check with the Department of Transportation. Depending on the width you may need a permit, usually about $10. The mast will need removed and tied up safe out of the way.
