I'm looking to purchase a 2007 Lexus IS250, and for a month have been watching the road for the 2005 models (or older). I haven't seen ONE. Are people trading them in for the newer ones? Does that mean when a new exterior model for the IS comes out, the '06, '07 and '08's will be off the road too? Or is the car so bad that people are selling them right away?

I mean it was a 2006 Chevy Cobalt parked into some bushes. I walked to the driver's seat and found the driver inside asleep. I took her out and laid her on the grass. I took the car and has since kept. It is a good car and the woman inside was alive. What should I do? The car is great on gas.

I am totally confused with the warranties for 2007 Pontiacs. Are they all just the basic 3/36 miles? Do you have to pay extra for a 5 year/100,000 mile warranty? My husband was under the impression that all of them were the 5 year warranty. I'm writing this late at night and can't call the Pontiac dealer. Thanks

I will be getting my license by the end of next month... i currently have a permit but can you drive alone without your parents if they have a written permission.
I have to get to summer school and my parents wouldn't be able to take me.
Would I be able to? (legally)

Or something?

I went to the mechanic at the local auto repair place because my car was making a very loud grinding noiss when i stop the car. the guy said that there was a lot of things wrong with it , i wrote them down, including the brakes, timing belt, axle crankshaft repair, and he said that alignments need to be done and its gonna cost me about 2200 to get fixed. This seems like alot of stuff to do but it ran good but it just made loud noises. is all this necessary?

How would you clean an automobile engine? I heard an Engine degreaser works well, but is it safe and can it cause any damage to the engine. Is it safe to spray water over the engine? Thanks everyone for your responses.

I thought that it sounded like a good deal and a few major parts have been repaired (or so he says). But a blown head gasket? I thought I could drive it home and have it repaired, but will that be possible? Is it hard to replace these things yourself?

when starting it, it accelerates itself and then dies. Fuel pump kicks on, relays kick in & out, no juice to coil packs when it is on, only gets power when you crank motor over, when your suppost to get all the time when key is on. Changed crank, cam, temp. sensors. Engine light comes on, read codes comes up misfire on all cylinders. It acts like someone turning key on & off all the time. Thanks for your time Ram...

I am a "road warrior" sales rep, the kind that will put 3k miles on a car in a mth, so leases are OUT! I need to replace my exsisting cars and because of want/what I'd like to have, & $ budget I've narrowed the choices down to a used Acura (TL/RL) an Audi A6 or Lexus (in the used categorey) or a preowned (I dont want to buy brand new because I dont like the thought of a 20%depreciation) so, Hyundai, everything I read on these cars is good, Nissan, the MAxima or Altima, I would consider a Camry but I drove a baseline model& wasn't too impressed and an Accord but my exwife drives one so....ya know....
Any other suggestions. I would like to stay under 35K and I would definately want a V6 unless there was a 4cy w/ phenominal power.
thx!

I recently had the wheels off my 1 ton Ford to fix a leaky brake caliper, and to bleed the system. I sprayed the studs with WD40 when I put the wheels back on, and torqued them down to spec. A week and a half later, I happened upon a sale on tires and decided to get the tires on the truck replaced. When I went to pick it up, the tire shop told me that they had to spend 15 minutes on each wheel cleaning the WD40 off the studs. The tire shop manager told me that lubes like WD40 cause the nuts to become overtorqued, and that the best thing to do is just to clean up the threads with a wire brush, and at the most, use dry graphite.

Has anybody ever heard this one? I have used WD40 for years, and I have never had a problem with getting the lug nuts off, or damaging studs or wheels from overtorqueing them.
