I am a "road warrior" sales rep, the kind that will put 3k miles on a car in a mth, so leases are OUT! I need to replace my exsisting cars and because of want/what I'd like to have, & $ budget I've narrowed the choices down to a used Acura (TL/RL) an Audi A6 or Lexus (in the used categorey) or a preowned (I dont want to buy brand new because I dont like the thought of a 20%depreciation) so, Hyundai, everything I read on these cars is good, Nissan, the MAxima or Altima, I would consider a Camry but I drove a baseline model& wasn't too impressed and an Accord but my exwife drives one so....ya know....
Any other suggestions. I would like to stay under 35K and I would definately want a V6 unless there was a 4cy w/ phenominal power.
thx!

Sorry Las, I meant Stuart..... Anyway, so far thank you all but I should point out that at times I have to take clients out to lunch or dinner. These are ppl doing @ least 1mil $ in the furniture industry a yr at retail, meaning a certain air of success has to be displayed. I know that sounds pretentious, but that how the world turns.....I mean do you buy your home from the guy in jeans and a Chevett or the lady in the Ann Taylor business suite driving a Mercedes...? Keep 'em comin but give it some thought! Maybe ppl who have had these cars.....

Just go buy a package of rice and see what car it burns best in.

All of those import tin cans will certainly serve you well, Mr. Sellout America.

I hope you're not trying to sell anything made in the US. Your customers will certainly notice your committment to 'made in America'.

Of those you listed I would stick to the Acura (which is a Honda) or Altima. Both of these cars are rock solid and have been throughly de-bugged over the years. Hyundais, while getting better, still suffer from the orphan child syndrome and tend to wear out faster than the Japanese or Domestics. Speaking of domestic vehicles, you may consider a low mileage Ford Crown Vic. Talk about being de-bugged, this vehicle has the same V8/rear drive platform that has been in production for over thirty years and will go for hundreds of thousands of miles with only nominal maintenance. Just ask any cop! I realize you are after MPG but hear me out -- since fuel prices have gone up the big Fords and Mercurys can be had for bargain basement pricing, (like $15,000 for an EXCELLENT Crown Vic with low, low, mileage). The savings you get at the buy will offset the fuel savings from an import by a huge margin -- (how much gas can you buy for $20,000??). They all have gobs of torque and can cruise at 90+ for hours and hours.
Just thinking outside the box!

Well I have owned two Saturns and they have both been great. I have about 100,000 miles on my current one. Another nice thing is that maintenance is fairly cheap even through the dealership.

I have also heard good things about the Altima and Hyundai (mom has the Hyundai and loves it). I'd skip the Lexus or Audi just because of maintenance cost. At that level of use you will likely be taking it in quite a bit. They are nice though!

The Ford Fusion is a great car. Its inexpensive, and very comfortable. You can get 4 cyl or V6 and yes the 4cyl has great power. Its a 2.3 unlike most others that are 2.0 or less.

Too bad you're getting very biased advise here. I think it's personal choice, but I like Acura, and I am also an IMPORT LOVER!!! Have you checked Consumer Reports? That could be a good start. A few months ago they released their yearly car issue....excellent!!!
