I am totally confused with the warranties for 2007 Pontiacs. Are they all just the basic 3/36 miles? Do you have to pay extra for a 5 year/100,000 mile warranty? My husband was under the impression that all of them were the 5 year warranty. I'm writing this late at night and can't call the Pontiac dealer. Thanks

Well, I am a Pontiac dealer, so I guess this is the next best thing!

Base warranty is 3 years / 36,000 miles. Powertrain warranty is 5 year / 100,000 miles. Then there are emissions and body rust through as well.

The powertrain warranty covers more than engine & transmission, BTW. It also covers hubs/bearings and propeller shafts - in other words - the whole power train. There is no fee to get it, no transfer fee. No extra charges whatsoever.

Heck, if you get a car with OnStar you don't have any worries. If you get a flat, run out of gas, lock your keys in, break down, etc., help is just a push of that little blue button away.

GM has a 5 year/100K transferable powertrain warranty. Covers basically the Engine and transmission. This includes road side assistance in that time period too.

They have a 3 year/36K bumper to bumper warranty which covers the rest of the car.
