I have a 2000 BMW 323i and I feel a shaking in the stering wheel and in the seat around 40 mph and over this sometimes happens at slower speeds too. It gets worse when i apply the breaks .

The following has been done to it in the past 3 weeks....
1. brand new tires put on
2. 2 of the rims have been switched out (due to 2 of them being bent)
3. the bushings have been replaced
4. front end alignment (the tech did not say that he seen anything that needed replaced)

Im not sure if the belt in the tire is broken or if its something more serious... what do you think?

what is the easiest real-world analogy that can explain to a layperson how torque and horsepower function to move a car forward and provide power? i'm looking for something 'for dummies' that doesn't assume any interest or preparation in physics, engineering, cars, etc.

thanks in advance!

Not leaking from the tank. Could it still be the fuel pump even it's its pumping out after the car is turned off?

OK will £12,000 buy me a decent 911 turbo (the 3.3 930 model from the 1980's)...that's £12k just for the car itself, UK prices.

Or, as a new member of the Porsche fraternity, am I better off starting with a standard SC from the same era?

How different, realistically, are the two cars?

Thanks!

I just purchased a 1980 Silverton convertable yacht, but it has been out of the water for two years. Should I be concerned about any problem that could occur. The boat was serveyed in 11/04 in good condition and sea worthy.

2001 honda accord. Both front and rear tires treadings are worn out about the same. 1) Anyone know if honda accords of 2001 are front or rear wheel driven? 2) When replacing tires is it better to put new tires on front or rear (if you are replacing only 2 out of 4) on a car like this?

I just bought a 2005 Passat, it only came with one key. I just found out from the VW dealer that it will cost $150 to have the key cut and another $90 to have it programmed. Does anyone know of any other place that I can get a spare key for my car?
I'm not up for paying $240 for a spare key. I'm really disappointed in VW.
Thanks.

I got a 2000 Grand Prix. The security light is always on. It came with only one key and it doesn't say GM. I went to the dealer and they wanted $65.00 for a copy I think mainly to program the chip in the key. I went to Lowes and I got a copy for $3.00. I used that key this morning and came to work.

I am suspecting somebody tamper with the security system in order to make the other key to work. I hope the engine doesn't stop in the middle of traffic.

Anybody has any comments on that?

I drive a BMW 530 (2001) manual transmission. If I am at a stand still and floor it, the car jerks thru 1st and second. How can I maximize the cars performance so that I go from 0 to 60 as quickly as possible?

I recently discovered that I lost or misplaced the only ignition key to my 1994 Eddie Bauer Ford Explorer, and I was wondering what it would take to get a replacement.

I'm interested in saving at the Pump., If I drive slow I spend more time on the roade which means I burn more Gas. So if I drive faster I spend lest time on the road, but burn more gas for a shorter amount of time. Then the slower I go I burn less Gas but for a longer amount of time. So now which is it that I would be saving Gas or Time?
