Im 18 years old, and have had a Capital One card for about 6 months now...$300 limit. I've made all payments on time, and use it regularly for random purchases here and there. So i'm comfortable with my spending habits, and feel responsible enough to dip my toes a little deeper into the credit lake of death.

I've had my eye on a few Flat Panels and DLP's...and i've had a few friends tell me about their experiences with places like Rent a Center, etc...i obviously cant get a line of credit at a big store like Best Buy or CCity, so what has everyone elses experience been with the Rent to Own chain stores?

Thanks!
Nick

I got this letter saying if I don't pay the initial minimum payment to activate my card my account will be canceled. It also said all fees previously posted to my account will be reversed within two billing cycles. What does that mean? Do I still have to pay the fees even if I don't activate the card?? Please help!

I made payment arrangements with a CA before I learned anything about valid of debt or disputing. I made 1 $100 payment for Mervyn's. Then last week I send valid of debt letter. They received it Monday. Then today I received message on cell phone from CA saying that I have until 4 pm today to call them and try to work this out because I have been ignoring their calls. He says if I don't call, they will proceed with possible lawsuit. The collector is Arches Financial but they work with Law Offices for when I call, I get the law offices secretary lady. Any advice? I live in TX and reseted the SOL when I made payment! Big Mistake!

I have many outstanding balances on credit cards and cell phones, and an old electric bill that are all in collections. I currently have 4 open credit cards.
I want take care of them all but I can only afford to pay the current ones so I don't get further in debt. Is there any agency that can help without giving me a huge monthly payment...I'm barely getting by with what I pay now.

Thanks!

I want to remove a collection from my credit history, but I am kinda confused. When I got the bill was in Feb. 28, 2004 shortly after that I moved in Mar. 5, 2004 (barely paid in about a month ago). I was told that I could show the collections agency this and they could remove this from my credit history. Is this true????

I am asking because I have a feeling that it does and it makes it hard on People to do things with bad credit on their credit report.

I've been summoned to pay a debt in my name, but in my divorce settlement, it states that my ex-husband is responsible to pay it. It was a home improvement expense, the home was left to him, and he has sold it since our divorce, but did not pay the debt. I need advice on how to approach this. Thank you in advance for your answers.

Recently Durant (a professional athlete) signed a contract for 60 million dollars over a certain number of years. My question is....with all the money professional athletes, actresses, models, others make. Are there as many printed green dollar bills in existence for the "money" they earn? If Durant asked to see his 60 million dollar bills instead of credit...would they have it printed? A lot of money is being printed in these modern times....
