I am traveling to the UK next month and I have a question about credit card vs. debit cards. Hotels, restaurants, shops….etc, do they charge me more when I am using the credit card rather than the debit card? …………..Thanks

I don't think they charge you more if you use a credit card. But for debit cards, at some places, they have a requirement on how much you have to buy to use a debit card. For example, you have to purchase minimum of $5.00 to use debit, or a service charge of $0.50 will apply...Something like that. So keep that in mind when using debit cards.

Not directly but you are being charged for the privilege of using a credit card! Use the debit card where you can. And remember we still use a lot of cash here for smaller transactions!

your debit card may not be recognized in other country, since it is considered cash/check. check with your financial institution but chances are they don't have the same banks over there, i'd say carry both, cya (cover your a_ _)

No, they don't know the difference. All they pay attention to is whether it's Visa/MC.
