I enrolled with Renaissance Debt Solutions out of MD and paid the initial $349 start up fee to help me with credit cards and a repo that I have been paying on for 3 1/2 yrs. I was not behind in anything at the time but am now. Checked with the BBB (after the fact) and the company has an unsatisfactory rating. Does anyone have any further information about this company before I just cut my losses and try to get back on track with my creditors myself?

An auto dealership called and asked to speak to our 11 year old child. We explained to them this was a minor and they told us that a person called inquiring about a price and left our child's info. I know it wasn't us because at the time of the call we were all together and away from home. It makes me worried someone may be trying to steal our child's information. How can I check this information? Can you run a credit report on a minor?

I have paid every bill in my life on time, but when Sprint charged me $400 for ending a 2 year contract with them, I refused to pay it. I wrote a letter explaining my position to sprint and to the first collection agency. The bottom line is that I never signed a 2 year agreement. I signed a 1-year. When my phones arrived and did not work, I had to send them back. They cancelled my account and apparently signed me up for a 2 year agreement - but I did not agree to this and didn't even know about it.

I don't have any paperwork stating that I had a 1 year agreement, or a 2 year. I asked sprint to provide me with where I signed up for the 2 year but I did not get a response.

OK, now to the present. Now a company called Pentagroup is calling - and claiming they are going to garnish my wages because they have my social security number - I don't know what to think. I have the money, but I don't owe the debt so I refuse to pay. My credit score is 740. What are my options?

I have a circuit city store credit card i got it to buy a home computer and that's it. Would it be wise to cancel the credit card or to keep it? Which scenario if any would end up hurting your credit score?

Recently caught my attention when I was applying for personal loan. The loan lady said that I am not qualified, cos there is negative item reflecting on my credit report. It's medical collection. I had never received bills from the medical group. It was about treatment provided to me since 2004! Now the over due debts had turned over to the collection agency, and they also had never sent me a bill for it. When I called the original creditor, they cannot handle my debts anymore. When I call the collection people up, all they want is the full payment without providing me more details on the debt. I was mad cos they ruin my credit behind my back without me knowing at all. Can anyone suggest if it's a good first step to dispute it with credit bureau first. I think, at least the Bureau can force them to dig in to more legitimate info about this debt before I pay.

Don't confuse this with www.freecreditreport.com or www.annualcreditreport.com, these sites are reputable and it is the goal of creditreport.com to confuse you.

You have to sign up for their crediit monitoring to get your "free" report and credit score. That is pretty standard with the other 2 sites as well but the problem starts when you try to cancel, especially if you kept the service for any length of time after the free trial. They will do anything to try and retain you, they even have a retention department dedicated to doing just that. A call to cancel is worse than a trip to the dentist, then after you think you have cancelled, billing continues as usual.

They claim to have no information about confirmation numbers that they themselves gave you and they claim you never cancelled.
I have reported them to the BBB and everyone else I can think of, I urge anyone else who has dealt with this company to do the same.

These are my own personal experiences, do you have any?

I have a negative account on my credit report that is affecting me in a negative way. This was reported way back in 2001 and I paid the account in full in 2002 but the bank continued to report that it was unpaid till I recently disputed with them. They finally changed it from unpaid to paid after a charge off. I really want this information removed from my credit report since its so old. I have asked the credit buraus to remove this three times but they have not done it. What are my options at this point? Please tell me what I need to do to get this peace of information removed from my credit report. Thanks

One time I was late 1 day on my payment. My interest rate instantly jumped to 19% from 7. I was charged interest for the ENTIRE billing period on everything, even if it was purchased halfway through the billing cycle. I was charged interest on everything in the next billing cycle even though I paid off the balance entirely . And then everything that was purchased between the time I got my next bill and they got the payment on that next bill was charged interest on. CRAZY! I'm using cash more now adays because of this. I just don't trust them anymore. So I think they're disenchanting many people and loosing business.

I have two of those rip off credit cards, First Premier and Applied Bank, I paid them off in full, will it hurt my credit to close both accounts now? They are the only cards I currently have, as I am trying to establish some kind of history. However they are rip offs and charge me just to have an open account with them. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I don't carry a big balance, just charge things like plane tickets, gasoline, etc. My credit is great but I like to have a 0% (on purchases) interest card so I can carry a balance withoug paying interest. Have always been able to get one before (offer came in the mail) but I don't see any now. The 0% interest should be for 18 months so i don't have to change cards too often. I don't need to transfer a balance at all. Airline miles or rewards would be nice, too. Suggestions?

I co-signed on a car for my sister to help her out. The loan has about 10,000 dollars left on it and the bank is going to repo the car. I know my credit will be TRASHED, but will the bank garnish my wages or repo some of my property or will they go after her? I know what they can do, but what will they more than likely do? I talked to the guy at the auction they would probly get about 3,000 for the car still leaving like 7,000.

I got a best buy store card recently & discoverd I had "debt protection". Even after I told the Rep 4 times I didnt want it while she was trying to explain it to me. Her boss just said "I must have signed for it" even if I signed in the wrong place. He basically called me stupid right to my face. Then I got a letter says I hadnt signed for it & that it would be credited back to my account. When i tried to pay Pay online HSBC told me "my SSN was invalid"! At this point when I called them they had entered the wrong SSN & apparently it was a valid number becasue i had used the card by then. So should I pay this card off & just cut it up?

My husband and I are very happy unless it is about money. He is a very even tempered man unless money is brought up. He makes more then I do but our bills are split right down the middle. I have paid our morgage and car payments late and they have reported on our credit. He is going to look up our credit rating soon because he was turned down for a credit increase. I don't know what to do I'm just sick about it. I'm not sure if I should tell him before he finds out? We have two small kids and I just never wanted them to witness us fighting over bills.
