Have you ever had an unsecured credit card company place a lein on your home for an unpaid balance or is this just some tactic that the collection agency is using to scare the consumer? Or have you known someone who had this experience? The balance they are quoting is substantially more that it had been a year ago.

Trying to build my FICO score and purchased a credit report. In it, it stated that I don't have "enough mortgage accounts" and that I should open different types of accounts. I'm trying to build my credit to buy a house! Are their other types of "mortgage accounts" short of homes/houses that I can purchase relatively cheaply that will boost my score?

I recently got offered for a new CC, with 0% on balance transfers till 8-08, How do they work. Will I have to pay the balance in full to keep the 0% on BT's or can I make over the Min payment each month till I get it paid off.

I mean will they raise the interest if I don't pay it in full? I can make min and over min payments, I just can pay it off at one time. Its the Citi Dividend Plantinum Select Card?

i cant pay off my medical collections because im paycheck to paycheck with 2 kids and a house, i have 5 credit cards all with different balance all with close to their limit, i feel like everyones advice is great but for someone who has enough money to do what they say, i dont qualify for loans because of my debt to income ratio killing my credit however i always pay alittle more than minumum on cards and on time I was late once in the past year on one card. I need to feel like i have hope but it just gets worse what are small things i can do? i NEVER go out so its not going towards any entertainment for me its all in bills and daycare and food and supplies HONESTLY i never even treat myself to a rented movie and a lunch out!!I need help but not debt consolidation companies ive done my homework on that and i have gotten feedback of experience where they ended up paying more anyway and other horrors, any small suggestions of where to begin?

Helped finance vehicle [see previous question]found vehicle title did.not have my name...research shows, after signing loan app and sales agreement and title app, dealer changed title app, after submitting to finance company, removing my name, and moving co-purchasers name to purchasor,as sole owner...essentially making me responsible for a loan, with no ownership of vehicle...this was done without my knowledge or the loan company's knowledge...

we have a debt from a cell phone company. we went over the allotted minutes, thought we had rollover minutes, but they expired. we did not know that they expired. we went from having 800t extra minutes one month to no rollover minutes the next month. the company said they had all expired. i can not find this in the contract anywhere-except for a few lines that say rollover minutes expire after 12 months of accumulation. yet each month they are accruing. what you "earn" in february, expires the next february. does not make sense to me. we had a large bill, which we refused to pay, which is now in the 2nd collection agency. anyone deal with this? and what might our options be? we have so-so credit, we know if we dont pay this , it will be a detriment to our credit, but my husband insists they can take us to court and we can fight it out there. any one with similar stories? any advice will be greatly appreciated

My husband and I have a total of about $20,300 of debt all together (credit card and student loans -- heavy on the student loans). How bad is this? I am 23 and going to graduate college in December -- he is 26 and has already graduated and is working. We want to buy a house within the next year and a half. Is that crazy? Is it ever going to happen? How bad is this? I added it all up and was just shocked.

Hi there. I'm 18 and fresh out of high school with my first college semester starting this september. I'm interested in getting a credit card, but is it possible to get one without needing a bank account? I ask this because in the past, I've used my parents card but they've taken away the privilege since my older brother used it irresponsibly.

Is there a way to get a card by going to a store and using cash? I'm just curious since I want to order something online and use my own money that I've been saving up all these years ( I maintained my first job for about a year, but I'm too lazy to deposit it so it's just in a safe place in my room )
