First, discuss it with your wife. Make sure she didn't say he could use the card. Then dispute it with the credit card company. Call the police. That sounds like a form of identity theft.

Call the credit card company 1st they will probably cancel that card #. then they will probably send you to the police. This happened to me once and similar to H & R Block if you get audited by the IRS. They Will stand WAY Behind you and pretty much run for cover. However I suppose if you and the law people whom ever you finally get to help you can Meaning mostly you prove that this person stole from you then you can do something... Or maybe even small claims court. You may need to contact an attorney however the plane ticket cost may not be enough to do much as If the Ticket cost say $ 500 and a Lawyer if they will talk to you could cost that or between $ 200-$ 500 per hour. You may need to caulk this 1 up to experience.

If your wife did not okay the charge, that's theft and fraud. The first thing you need to do is contact the credit card company immediately and dispute the charge. (If it's not a joint account, your wife needs to do this.) Then file a police report.

That's called fraud. Contact the card company directly and report it. By the way -- how did he get the card #?? You had better find the leak and plug it.
