I know they always say to pay off the credit card/loan with the highest interest rate. In my case, if I have $1,100 to spend, should I pay off a loan that has a balance of $600 (7.9% interest) and put the remainder toward another bill OR should I use the whole $1,100 and put toward a loan/credit card that has a higher interest rate with also a much higher balance (thousands). I just don't think it would even put a dent in the higher interest debt. what do you think?

I am in need of refinancing our home. We are currently almost 2 months behind on our mortgages. We stopped the foreclosure in October but are headed that way again if we don't find a way to refinance. When we stopped the foreclosure in October we thought it was paying for Novembers payment too but it wasn't so we were behind a month again right off the bat. We have a first and second mortgage we want to consolidate them. We also have an adjustable rate mortgage that is killing our finances. We filed bankruptcy almost 7 years ago. This is my dream home and don't plan on leaving it until I go in a box in the ground. If anyone knows anything that would help I would be very greatful.

Basically, my husband went to the ER up in NY about 3 years for a workers comp accident - he needed stitches in his finger. Anyway, just figured everything was taken care of through his employer - apparantly not. Jump forward to today - we are living in FL for the past 2 years - husband recently ran credit report and sees this collection account regarding the hospital bill. Long story short, husbands previous employer is no longer in business. I rather just pay it, but someone told my husband, even if you pay it, it will still show up on your credit report as a collection - so it doesn't make a difference if it's paid or not. Is this true? We are clueless about these things. I tried to do some research on the computer, but was way too much info for me to understand.

Thanks for your help. I should also add that this is the only negative thing on husbands credit report - not sure if that matters.

I have already had NCO withdraw one hundred dollars from my account and they are scheduled to take another 312 out monday. And then another 312 out at the end of april and then they said my debt would be paid. What am I to do? After reading up on this a little more, I called them and they said that since i agreed on the phone for them to take it out the money, the Electronic Check has already been processed (for this month/312) and they said if I stop payment, I will have a bad check floating around, Is this correct? They have my account number and routing number. I do owe a lil money on a credit card, and thats the debt they said they was coming after. They were some rude people, and i think it is bogus, but i dont want a check floating around out there that I have apparently electronically signed. What am I to do??? SHould I close the account or continue to pay NCO??

I currently owe a medical collection( Franklin collection service) 4,000 I set up a payment arrangement that we both agreed on and they sent me a form to sign agreeing on 100 a month until payed in full. I am trying to boost my credit score. shouldn't they change the status from pass due to paying as agreed on my credit report since I am now paying them monthly as agreed. Would that boost my score a little or none at all.

I would like to rebuild my credit, it is very bad, but I am paying off all my bills, and will be debt clear soon.
How do I go about rebuilding the credit that i messed up?
I was given huge credit when i was young, I had good intentions of paying them off, but I found myself in a situation that I had no control over, my dad got sick with cancer, and so I had to leave my job and stop payments on my credit cards, and now 8 yrs later I am still up to my ears in debt. So now I need to get credit to build my life.
Any suggestions on how to start?
credit cards? or loans? or what or how do i go about doing it?

thank you in advance

We have $5,000 in total credit card debt on two different credit cards. We have been saving money on the side for the wedding and have a total of close to $6,000 in the bank. Should we pay off the credit cards with that money and then apply whatever our wedding costs (to compensate the 5,000 we would take out of the bank) on one or two credit cards with 0.0% apr for a year or so? I can provide more info if needed but I am trying to find a plan that my fiancée and I can agree on so I will need details on why a certain plan of action is better. Hope you guys can help!!
