My boyfriend bought his car brand new in 2003 - its a Mitsubishi Lancer. He's almost halfway through a 7 year finance deal on it but still owes about $12,000 at 12% APR. He has pretty bad credit.

Lately he has been thinking of leaving his full time job at a car dealership that he hates and working back at a job he really liked that paid less so he can go to school part-time and re-fi his car loan so he can afford it AND go to school. Part of him is also trying to find other options, like if it is possible to sell his car back to the dealership or something and get a cheaper vehicle. He wishes he could go back in time and never buy the car because $435 a month is a lot to spend!

What options does he have? He's open to any ideas as he isn't sure what he can do with his car. He owes more than he's paid so far, so he can't sell it outright as he won't get enough for it. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I believe this company to be a total ripoff artist. They won't work with debt consolidation agencies and they lied about the interests rat quoted to me on the phone to be at 18 %. I get the paperwork finally, and it's an insane 99% interest. I've written to the Better Business Bureau, and they're no help at all. How can this company have an "A" rating and charge people like this? This appears as the country is allowing this company to legalize Loan Sharks in a most evil Format. Any Help with this would be appreciated.

If I use this card and slide it as "credit", will it still go through if I don't have enough on the balance? I really want to buy something but I don't have enough money currently, I wouldn't mind if they billed me later or something

I've had trouble with this and want to find out if anyone else has. The Fair & Accurate Credit Transaction Act requires this. Seems like merchants not doing it are leaving us open to identify theft.

I have received 2 phone calls from Ford Motor Credit looking for a "Deadbeat" neighbor, who I do not know and she no longer lives on this street. They have also called me on another person in the neighborhood that no longer lives here. Ford repossed his van about a month ago. How do I get them to stop calling here for other people? I'm the only one that I know of that is getting these calls. Maybe I'm the only one that's answering the phone when they see "Ford Motor Credit" on the caller ID. I shouldn't have to put up with this. Does anyone have a suggestion other then not answering the phone? Thanks!

I'm 17 years old and I just got a part time job with an average of about 20-30 hours per week. I attend an Independant Study High School where I make my own hours as long as I meet the minumum so that I can work more and save up. My questions are:

Since I'm under the age of 18 can I have credit?
If not, is there anything I can do now that will set me up for excpetional credit when I turn 18?
If, so how can I find out my score and what can I do to raise it?
What are some things I now to improve my chances of renting an apartment (or anything, at that rate) at a young age?

Please give me any and all info that you can even if it doesn't directly involve the question asked above.

:)

My wife and I owe over $150,000 in student debt with interest rates around 9-11% on each loan. Is it better to just refinance our house and pay it all off, for a lower monthly payment and interest rate?
