For the same reason you should never mail cash, you should never deposit cash in an ATM. The ATM receipt is not worth the paper used to print it. It only reflects what you told the ATM. The bank is already disputing that information. Unless the ATM camera clearly shows you putting cash in the envelope, its you word against the person that balances the ATM. Short of multiple complaints, the ATM teller wins.

You may be SOL... Your only "proof" is the deposit slip and possibly an ATM camera showing you putting cash into the envelope. There would be a paper trail over the checks, not with cash. Try posting a complaint on ripoffreport.com and see if others have had problems with the same bank, specifically the same branch. You may also want to file complaints with your state's attorney general and the Better Business Bureau.

In the future make all deposits to a person. The only thing I do at an ATM is take money out.

Take your receipt to them showing your deposit. Other than that, I don't know, other than try to track the checks to see if they got cashed. Good Luck!
