I would like to pay on my Nimo bill I owe and it states on my report that they do not expect payment. Its like $2800.00 and I first off would like them to wave the late fees and I would pay the rest in full. The question is will they pull it off my credit report after I pay it and also do you think they would reduce it. Thank you for your help*************************************************************************************************************************************

ps I am also looking for a company to help me with this but it seems to be that either you can get a layer to help with bankrupsy or credit concalidaters to make payments. Is there anyone else that just helps pay old bills in full with some bargening on my behalf?

Last December, at the end of the month I got a call from a collection agency telling me that I owed money for not cleaning up the apartment I had moved out of in May of 06. They said I had a few days left to pay or they would leave a bad report on my credit as of Jan 1. Well, this was the first I had head about it, so I was upset. Then they told me my apartments had sent me a few warning letters to my new address, and that I should have known, but I never even got those letters. So I called the apartment complex and they insisted there was nothing they could do, it was in the hands of the collection agency. I pointed out that I did clean my apartment before moving out and that they made a mistake, but they didn’t care.

On Dec. 29 I decided to go ahead and called the collection agency to pay over the phone. But when I called to pay over the phone I could not get a live person on the phone, I was stuck on their menu each time I called and had to leave messages, but nobody ever called me back. That was my last day to pay because they were going to close at 5:00 and not re-open until Jan 2. By the time they called me back it was 2 weeks into Jan and I told them forget it, I’m not paying because they already mad a bad report on my credit so the damage was already done; why pay? It was the fact that I had excellent credit and now it had a mark on it that made me mad!
Now that agency calls me every week or so wanting their money. So can anyone tell me should I pay this or not and reasons and if so why? Morally I don’t feel bad because I know in my heart I cleaned the apartment and if I had gotten the notices from my apartment I would have handled it.

I am in need of a a loan. I know the rate will be high. Banks such as american general, wells fargo and citi will not lend me anything. not because of recent bad credit, but due to old bad credit. I only have 2 accounts with history over 12 months and the rest are all new 5 months or less. I need to only borrow around 5000. any help with this would be great. my score is low but like i said its not due to recent bad credit other than a judgement from 98 that showed up back in January. I have paid most of my collections off as well and still cannot seem to get help.

I've been in a credit counselling service for one year now and I am saving money on the side.
I've been recently offered a settelment on a sizeable debt I have. It's 60% what I owe the company but it's through a collection agency.
I know that by taking the settlement, the balance will go on my income at tax time, but I figure that the taxes I'll pay on it will be a lot less than what I would pay if I continue with the payment plan I have been using.
Are there any negatives to taking such a settlement? Can I ask that they consider that I paid it in full on my credit report?
If I can manage the three payments, why shouldn't I take the offer?

I read an article yesterday that got me thinking. One part was that these people are constantly opening credit card accts and I would think if I did that for the purpose they do (to save money) that I will over-extend myself in credit, dragging my credit rating down. It sounds like a good idea as I'm all about my savings acct right now. Take 90% of the credit limit on a credit card at 0% and put it in a savings acct. for a year. But with the fees, I think not such a great idea. Are there credit cards that would do this and not charge a fee? How much money can these people be making if they are getting 5-6% interest, but paying those hefty balance transfer fees or cash advance fees. Someone enlighten me. Thank you!

Here's the article:

Most of us are aware that FICO scores range from 300 to 850, with 300 being reserved for the people with the absolute worst credit, and 850 being reserved for a few elite people with absolutely perfect well-established credit. It is hard enough to get over 800, let alone 850.

Has anyone(who works in finance) seen a score that was very close to either 300 or 850? If so, what types of things(collections accounts, long-standing cards, tons of loans, etc) on their report affected why their score was so extremely high or low? I've heard that it is possible to get a 300, but I don't think I've ever seen anyones' score lower than a 420. Anyone?

I've put like $3,000 into buying a truck, I tried to trade it in the other day and they said I had to make four more payments. I Found out that out of all the money I've given them I've only come down like $300 on the actual price. Yes, I know I made a bad deal, but what I want to know now is what happens if I giove it back. Like just say here ya go I dont want the damn thing. Obvisiously its gonna hurt my credit but how bad? And will I get any money back?

I have a credit card with a small limit secured by a money market account. I was told in order to close this account and then the money market account I had to pay the balance of the card and then request the account be closed. I did all of that and was told I would receive an letter or email notifying me of the closing of the account that I could then use as documentation to close the money market account and get my money back. Today, I checked the website and I have a new "bill" in the amount of 3 dollars and change - I sent them an inquiry but am wondering what I can do to get them to close the account and quit charging me fees, etc. It is a small amount of money but I want to get it closed because of this nuisance factor and the terrible customer service.
