Definitely dispute them and if you go to each company Transunion,Equifax, and Experian they each have different ways but you can add comments about such bills check
your credit once a year also use the opt out notice with all the
junk credit card offers you receive. It cuts down on the junk mail to and stops them from adding negative stuff on your
credit if your falling behind on credit cards or owe alot use
a credit consolidating agency such as American Financial Service they are great and as I am down to my last payments they actually made my credit stronger and cut down the interest.Good Luck

Unfortunately, the seven year rule is universal for everyone. Any negative items (besides bankruptcy and tax liens) stay on your report for that length of time no matter what.
If the accounts have been paid or settled for less than what's owed, the credit bureaus will update them accordinly. That loooks much better than the account just being an open collection or charge-off.

make copies of the letters saying that the bills were paid off in full. Submit them to all three credit reporting agencies and wait a month or two. Do a credit report and if they are still on there then dispute them.

Get a copy of your credit report and see which ones are showing as bad if you have paid them then go to the creditor and get a letter saying that the debt is paid off if it was a credit card company have them send you a letter(both cases document who you talk with time etc)also have them give you a confirmation number and if you see some that don't belong to you (check for identify theft for sure)simply say that this is not my acct(the one who pulls your credit should be able to show you how to do that)the lender has 60 days(weekends and holidays don't count)to challenge it if they don't it gets wiped off automatically and your score goes up

"f you have a bad credit record, check the reason for this report. If the reason is due to late or non-payment on your behalf then, start making the payments to the lender and clear off the debts quickly.

Dont make late payments. If you are not in a position to pay due to shortage of money then limit your spending.

Paying off your huge debt in small amounts.

The credit bureaus can also make mistakes. They store the ratings of many people and are they too can make mistakes. "

The only way you can do this is to ask the company to change them or contact the credit reporting agencies about them. Some may move it, some wont.

Contact the credit bureau(s) that have your file, and get them to remove the item on your credit history
