How long ago did you send the rebate? Some companies take up to 8 weeks to process the rebate as "received" and can take another 12 weeks to send a check. Did you make a copy of the receipt, rebate form, and other paperwork before you mailed it? If not, you will be out of luck. They recommend you always make a copy of rebate information before mailing it. Most companies have the "not responsible for lost mail" claim on their rebate forms, which will leave you without your money if it gets lost in the mail. Did you spell the address right on the envelope, put proper postage on it, and pay for delivery confirmation? If you did, then take it up with the post office. If you didn't, then you live, you learn, and next time, you will follow the proper procedure.
If you buy a lot of products with rebates, keep a spreadsheet on your computer that has the name of the rebate, the company it's from, the address you mailed it to, the rebate amount, the approximate time period the form says the rebate will take to receive it, and the date you finally receive the rebate. Some companies who claim to have rebates take forever to mail them, and others are quick to send them out. You as the consumer have the responsibility to do all of the busy work when trying to get your money back.
Good luck to you. By the way, if you can prove they received it (like you got your delivery confirmation saying they did) you can take it to the HP headquarters or the Better Business Bureau if you have waited more than the allotted time to receive your rebate.

My daughter had the same problem with them. The local news station where I live did a story on it and they said that if you file a complaint with the better business bureau against them you will get your money. Once my daughter did this she received her rebate. It was amazing how quickly they found the information she had sent them 4 times. Good luck.
