It is a good idea. We are a growing state and have a lot of wonderful opportunities for the right people. We have more rain than almost any other state, oops, that may not be a good selling point.

If you are moving to the Portland Metro area, it is a bad time due to traffic congestion and all the construction going on with the interstates. But, Portland is one of the fastest growing cities in the United States. The State of Oregon has approximately 15 million people. About half of them are located in and around Portland.

We have beautiful coast line, mountain vistas, high desert in the east, The Wilamette Valley is lush and beautiful all year long. Most of the western portion of the state is considered rain forest, so it is always green. We have very strict environmental laws to protect the uninhabited portions of the state.

We are one of the few states left where you can truly enjoy our wilderness only minutes from the metro area of Portland.

Salem, the Capitol, is rich in history and culture. We have many colleges there, museums, some of the finest dining and theater and it is only an hour from Portland if there is not enough there for you.

Our agriculture industry is thriving. You cannot go more than a mile in any direction without finding some sort of nursery or tree farm or some other business of the sort. It is one of the largest industries in the state.

And we have a lot of empty houses in the Portland Metro area that need filling. I personally know of a lot of houses that range from $185,000 to $250,000 that have just been built that the builder is trying to fill. You can get a good deal on them I am sure.

This is a rapidly growing area and the great thing is that it is still fairly inexpensive to live here.
