I was incarcerated suddenly and didn't have time to close my cards out. My friend asked me if i would leave my credit cards open for her to use. Naturally, i did and she used and paid them well for 2years. After two years, she didn't pay yet all purchases were hers. Now that I'm home I want to take her to court. Tried talking to her and she only wants to pay 1 out of 3. If that. Her credit is good and I now have none.

For a long time I had superior credit but due to severe health problems I fell behind and could no longer afford to keep up with my payments, I sent what I could consistently. However, I just recently had an award issued against me in favor of Chase credit card company. I know that Texas law states that Unsecured creditors cannot force me to sell my home for unsecured credit card debt the exception being home equity loans, contractor liens or loans for home improvement. My problem is that I also had a credit card with chase. (never used it for anything concerning my house )Could they find some loophole and force me to sell my home since my credit card was with them and they are my mortgage company? Anyone been in a similar situation?

My then fiance and I co-signed for a car a few months ago. Now that we are married and she has taken my last name, she wants to change her name on the loan. The bank told her today she may have to refinance (at a prevailing higher rate) to get her name changed. This seems illegal. We are waiting to hear back on Monday from someone else, but does anyone have any insight or suggestions assuming they take the same stance on Monday? We live and bought the car in Georgia. Thanks!

When my husband and his previous wife divorced they each quit paying for debts that were in the others' name. He and his ex-wife are being taken to court over a piece of equipment that was leased and never paid for and never returned. Could this have an effect on me, personally, since it happened before we were married?

if the co-signer for someone's auto loan passes away before the term is up...what happens then? Who is ultimately responsible and do you still get to keep the car?

I worked hard to pay off all my credit cards; however, I still have 2 repossessions in my name (one as the co-signer, one in my name only - each about 15000). They did happen due to my ex-husband screwing up. In the divorce decree, all debt was given to him - he couldn't care less, and since they are in my name...what do I do???

Okay, I have never had a credit card. (I'm 24 and have an income of around 38k) I don't particularly need one... but would like to get one for emergencies and to build my credit more. (I have good credit as is).

What do I need to look for in a credit card? What is a good interest rate? What is the difference between APR and interest rate? Is there a type of credit card you prefer? (capital one, american express, etc)

A judgement will be against me for a creditor I owe and the amount is about 2290 plus costs they said. and they want the full amount. what will happen if you do not have it to give? I tried to do a payment arrangement with them that I could afford. but, it was not acceptable. I do not have any assets, property or anything they can take. we were going to court in March now they decided to enter a motion for a judgement without trial. can someone please explain what a judgement is? what its all about?
what it means? and what can happen for me? Thank you anyone who can help me out.

Can your identity be stolen from it? I have lots of those mails waiting to be shredded and was wondering if I can just throw them out.

I don't think it was the credit card debt collector's place or position to tell my former foster mom how much debt I owe. I'm a grown woman with a college degree, & the foster mom has nothing to do with my finances. & then she used it against me & threw it in my face & made me feel bad. I fell into debt as a result of Hurricane Katrina & had trouble getting out, ever since. & then, the foster mom tried to tell me I need to learn how to manage my money. I already do. I just have an unfortunate situation that I'm dealing with right now.

I received a refund after my statements closing date, so now i am showing a negative amount. What happens now? Do I have to ask them to send me a check for it or does it happen automatically? The credit card is Amex Blue.

Thanks.
