im 17 and turn 18 in a couple weeks is it legal for a credit card company to offer me a credit card , the application had my name address and everything is it legal

Sure they can. But just because you got an offer does not mean you'll get accepted.

A word of advice: Stay away from credit card debt.

Credit card companies have been known to send offers to pets... they can send to anyone.

It's not legal to have a credit card at 17. You have to be 18, but I too would like to caution you to stay away from credit cards.

Save your money and pay cash.

credit card company's will send applications to pets too. they probably got your name off a mailing list. if you look at the application, you are vouching that you are at least 18 years old. its illegal for minors to enter into contracts on their own. sending it in when you are 17 is fraud. wait the couple of weeks until you are 18, and send it in.

It is legal for them to send the offer, but it is illegal for you to accept it.

yes they are slick. you cant legally have one to 18 but they can offer on. Please be careful wilth credit. easy to get into debt and hard to get out....... Check out dave ramsey web site be wise
