Ok.. So i just started a new, great job. During the interviews and the job offer, my boss told me that there was no overtime. Now that I've been working for 2 weeks, I notice that alot of people work overtime and also work through their lunch. Alot of the reason i took this position was because of no overtime. I am very concerned... Should I ask my boss about this?

I am about to give in notice to my employers. I don't have another job lined up or anything, I just want to leave. I want to say to them that I'll work out the month but I'm only required to give a weeks notice. Can they demand I leave after the week? Please let me know what you think.

I found a job in a bank , but after checking my credit , the withdrew thier offer.I found a temp job , 27 miles one way from my house in June .They wont hire me full time coz they dont want to pay benefits.so I get $12 /hr.my husband makes $10/hr . I have had to suspend taxes from my check just to make ends meet. we have two cars , both need payments adding to $750/mth.our insurance has been suspended coz we cant pay for it. we lost health insurance when I lost my job.Today , the bank returned my rent check coz my furniture company made a payment electonically from my checking acc coz I was a few mths behind so all the money for rent is gone.my check for this week$400 is only half the rent.oh , and my tooth has hole & infection but with no insurance , cant go to the dentist

Long story but my husband asked for 2 days off for my sisters wedding out of state. Well he asked and they told him that they expected him to be there those two days. He is in the union, and does not have any time left to take off during the year. My question is what if they fire him when we get back, if we went. Would he be able to get unemployment. Obviousily this company doesn't care about family. So he is going to look for a new job! So do you think he would qualify for unemployment? Thanks!

I hope this doesn't seem dumb.

Recently I graduated from a Funeral Service College, with a A.S. in Funeral Service. Many people have informed me I could use my degree to work with pathologist, is that true? That is something I'm seriously interested in doing.

A few job path. assistant openings have become available in my area, and I read over the min. qualifications that were listed. There were very few simularities between it and my educational background. Needless to say, that made me feel inadequate but I applied anyway! ( Its worth a try) But I'm a little hesitant about following through. I'd hate to sound unintelligent about my qualifications. I need to put together in my mind some fundementals about how embalming and pathology correlate.

I could benefit from some brutal honesty here. I'd like to sound confident when contacting HR.

Thanks.

hey guys , i have an interview tommorow for a position as an "Embedded Software Engineer". I am a little bit nervous . What kind of questions do you think they can ask me relating to the position ? I have some projects in my resume . Is the interviewer going to ask me any questions relating to that ? I don't have any experience and the job is for someone with experience . I got the interview because i was persistent. Now i have to show the employer i have the nature to hard work and learn quickly . How can i over the fact that " i have no experience in the field " . I have other experiences like

Call center ( e-zpass new york ) and
Cust service ( Comp usa )

i didn't work for long in these places 6 months each . i got fired from e-z pass due to poor absenses ( i was going through a ToUgH time , if u can understand ) .
I want the job really bad because , I can't stay home any longer due to family problems. What do you think i should know before hand facing the employer ?

I just graduated in December 2006 from the University of Kentucky. My degree is in Psychology, but I have a passion for financial analysis and business developement. I was involved with a wonderful small business throughout college in which I was able to manage all of the financial/customer/business data and use it to help grow the company (a lot.)

However, now that I am out of college and want to move into a sustainable career (i.e. support my family with pay and benefits,) I am finding it difficult to pursue my passion. My wife and I want to move to the Central Florida area (where we were engaged, honeymooned, etc.) I have applied for dozens of analyst jobs down there, but, as of yet, no bite. How does one "break into" this field?

I want to apply for Program Officer in the United Nations in Thailand (My home country).

I am 22 years old. I have been studying a BA and a MPA degree in the U.S. I will have a Master in Public Administration in May. However, I do not have enough work experience for this position (or other postions) in the areas of study.

Most jobs require 5-10 years experiences.

Should I give it a shot anyway?

Thank you very much for your kindness.
