I have been working at the same place for over nine years (i'm 30) and I want a change. New employers always seem to ask "why do you want a change" and "why should we hire you". I am extremely shy and so am very nervous about this. Do you have any tips or ideas to help me thru? (Its admin work)

Accept the fact that being nervous is very natural. They expect you'll be nervous and will allow for it.
Practice a firm handshake, No "vise grip' but no "dead fish" , look them right in the eye, answer truthfully without a lot of ad-lib,
-just be yourself, you'll be fine.
I'm pulling for you. I'd been through 6 companies which went out of business.
Sell them on loyalty.."If you hire me I'll always appreciate the opportunity you have given me, and my work will reflect it."
It always worked for me.
Good luck. Go get "em.

if u were good at your old work then ask for a reference
by your old employer so that your next one knows that u r really good
then there are these nine years of job and if it is in he same ''field'',admin, then it means u have experience...
in my opinion there is nothing u should be nervous about ...
ok i know in an interview everyone is nervous ... but u have many ''aces'' in your pocket !!
maybe u can use that nine years in the same place like that :''i stayed that many years in the job now i feel ready and filled with all this wisdom of my experience to make sthg really new and good , i believe i ll give my best in this beginning of this new working era ...'' ok thats an idea ...u know u can thing of sthg like that
i think u will do good just have confidence in yourself u have so many advantages so u know u r the one that is the best for the job!!
just go there and see for your self ;-))
i wish u luck !! hope i helped
