I have been there and back several times. I didn't know how I was going to dig out...but eventually I did. You might consider filing for bankruptcy...but only as a last resort. I know this would keep you from working in the banking industry, but as an admin. you can work just about anywhere, and many of them do not check your credit. Did you file for unemployment when you lost your job? I know it isn't much, but it may help you to make ends meet a little. As for your tooth....

I CANNOT SAY THIS ENOUGH....do something. I have had more than one absess, and they can KILL you. Call your health department in your city and ask them what your options are. In some cases, if there is a dental college nearby, they will do it for free. But please do something- I had one of these recently, unfortunately, mine was sudden. I was rushed to an endodontist who called around and got me to an oral surgeon. He said it could not wait, I could die from it. So all in a day, I went to and endo then had my tooth pulled. It was a *****...and in the end, turned out they didn't take our insurance. We arranged a payment plan. Currently, I am out of a job too--my husband was hospitalized less than a month ago with no insurance. I am unsure how we are going to do it, but we will do it.

I am so sorry you are going through this. I know what it's like, I promise. My husband and I bought a home shortly after we were married and I was in school and working only part time. He began working with a guy on his startup company. My husband did really well until he found out the owner just one day decided he was putting NO MORE money into the business. Rent for the business had not been paid, (unknown to us) and paychecks had been bouncing. Our bank made some crazy error and DID NOT notify us that the paycheck had bounced and did not notify us that any of our checks were bouncing as a result. Because of this, in a week's time, we were in the hole $1500 before we even knew anything was wrong. Our only method for buying food was a credit card until we could figure out what to do. My husband took some strange jobs to pull us out...but he did. It took a while and it was stressful, but we did it.

Again, I am sorry, I know this is tough.

Well, it sounds pretty rough. There are places that are in the community that will help. It is just a matter of finding them and asking for the help. Try churches and/or the salvation army. They usually offer help for those in need. Sounds like you need to do some fast talking to quite a few places. Talk to the creditors and see if you can work something out. Use your knowledge to your advantage. If you don't explain what is happening, you can't even begin to think that they will work with you. It can be embarrassing, but it may save you in the end.
