On Friday I learned my lesson.
I got hired on the spot by an owner of a local business.
Since I did not expect to get hired, I forgot to ask his name.
Even worse, I did not fill any paperwork, and the owner said that he is going away , but I should come in on Monday anyway.
He did introduce me to a few employees, but not the manager.
I am pretty sure that he let the management know that I will come in on Monday, but since I do not know his name, what do I say?

"Hi, I am a new employee. Where should I start?"
Should I ask for a manager?
I learned my lesson to be more attentive next time.
:-)

I majored in information technology. I had considered this field because I had discovered that I'm good at analyzing people and problems, not computer problems.

I have my resume everywhere online, and still no replies. My resume does not look bad, I have had it professionally critiqued but I still have had no luck. When I graduate, I will be broke and will not move back in with my parents. What works when looking for a job. I have been looking for over a month now and am more stressed out than ever.

I've been looking for a mystery shopper job. Good Morning America a few months back gave out a website where you can find companies that do this. I ran several of the companies through the Better Business Bureau. All have satisfactory records, some are even members. I still have an uneasy feeling because they ask me for my social security number. I really want to do this. Is there any where else besides the Better Business Bureau that i can check for legitimacy?

Have you ever been called by a recruitment agency and told they saw your CV online and they have the perfect position for you, "you should come in and complete the application" Then when you go and complete the application they say, well the company may have a problem that you don't have experience in this really really specific sub-type of sub-section area of expertise.
What's their modus operandi or ulterior motive?
Do they get paid by the number of people they have on file?

I recently applied for a promotion (which the hiring supervisor directly asked me to apply for) but I still have to go through the interview process...which I absolutely suck at! I get SO nervous, I trip over my words, I nearly hyperventilate before going in, cant think of answers on the spot like that.....Please advise on how to stay calm and what are good answers for "what type of people do you least like working with", "what makes you stand out amongst your peers" "best and worst qualities" thanks so much!

I know someone who has a wildlife biology degree and can't get a good job with good pay. He thinks he'd be better off going back and getting a business degree with a masters. Or law school. What do you think? No jokesters please.

I want to be a veterinarian technician. So far only my family has been supportive. I really like animals, am not afraid to see blood, and work more quickly in emergencies to them then to humans. My vet was one of those that said my want of being in the veterinary science would cease soon but it has already been like six years. So i just wanted to know if anyone has some tips on what to learn at 14 to be prepared for what's ahead.

Well, I was forced to resign from my job the other day which I had high ambitions of being hired on as a full-time career employee. I got into an accident on the job, and in the position I was in, I was not allowed to get into such accidents at all. I am devastated. One man who I worked with reccommended that I go to church and find a "nice guy" as if that would solve all of my problems. Did I just flash back to the 1950s when a woman should just find a man and settle down? Somebody help with suggestions or advice or personal stories about job loss etc so I can feel better. This situation sucks really bad. Thanks.

Its like we have less jobs in India and the jobs we have here are not paying satisfactory amount ,due to this people go abroad and use their skills and their mind for them . i want to ask that is it possible to stop all this . In India people who r educated and have good knowlege about their subject are unemployed and those who r having a job ,they are not satisfied with it because of less salary. I want to ask that who is responsible for that ,the person who is not having the job or our govt. .

I haven't had any experience in finding a career. I've just had a couple of regular jobs. I want to find a career that I can start now and stick with and be able to retire. How do I go about finding a career as a high school drop out? What are some good jobs that people with GEDs can apply for that would allow them to retire? I live in Richmond, VA if anyone local is reading this and could maybe help a little better.
