Do you enjoy what u r doing? There are lots of jobs out there. As far as working 8-5 every day... well... you have to do something to make money. If you don't like those hours you can find something that works nights or graveyard shifts. Just remember there's always a weekend to look forward too. I would stick this job out for a while and see what comes of it. Have fun, Life is what you make of it.

Hey kid you just make sure that when you are getting a job that you think you might want stay at for a long time that it has great benefits IE retirement, insurance, 401k, anything that will help you down the road when you have a family to look after.
Now when you have that lined out step back and say will I be able to do this same work when I'm 50 or 60 years old. You never know what going to happen in the next 40 years.

Also if you don't like 8 to 5 Mon thru Fri you might want to look in to some place that has shift work.
Either way your life is what you make it, so do the best you can.

Welcome to the grind, Kid!

The bad news? That's the way it is. The good news? You're 18!

Listen, use your job to pay your bills. Figure out what you want to do with your life. Do you want to own your own body shop? Then learn everything you can on the job and take night courses that will help you achieve that goal. Do you want to do something else? Then use your job to save up the money to go to college, or whatever, to move toward your goal.

Having goals will help keep purpose in your life and will make the 9 to 5 grind more meaningful and rewarding.

Work hard during the week and have a good time with friends and family on the weekends. It's not really the job that's important, but the people you work with and the attitude you bring to the job.

Put a plan together and go for it! Good luck.

Practically everyone goes through the fase from teenage years to adulthood and it is hard no matter what the chages are in your life. If you love doing the job you are now then I would just give it some time. Since you are making good money now and see yourself going places with this job just tough it out. Things can only get better.

You can make yourself depressed if you focus on the repetitive (seemingly never-ending) nature of a FT job. Step back, mentally, and see what the job does for you, how it provides you with security (money for housing & needs) and mobility (can't do much if you're broke). Set rewards or special events for yourself, to lift your spirits. Save a little for some big splurge (going away to see new things, meet new people).
Consider your job temporary, if you'd like to work less hours, start looking for that. Start with your current employer, see if they'll let you stay on at 32 hrs per wk, giving you a 3-day weekend . . . that's easier to live with!
Best wishes.
