I work for a hospital on a particularly "sickly" floor. I have never been a very sickly person, but since starting this job in January I have not had a single day where I have been at 100% health. The problem is that I have had to call in sick several days already. I was sick one weekend in january, one day in feb, and 3 days this month. Each time I was out I called in way before my shift was due to start, and when i came back prensented a Dr.'s note forbidding me to come back to work.
All of these issues; from the flu to diareah, has been contracted through the job!
My queston is, can I be terminated due to poor attendance? Considering that I work with immuniocompromised people and have had a DR's note for every single time? I have also not been 'spoken to" about my absences yet, but I can tell that they are starting to get angry. Hell, I'm angry too, I'm losing a fortune in pay here!

Any insight would be very helpful

It woul dbe great if the company provides classes for kids only but it woul dwork if it was for adults too.

This employer seems to thrive on degrading the women, as to where she seems a bit weary of the men. Some of the male employees have gotten irratated and walked off the job more than once, but yet were allowed to come back to work with a raise, but when one of the women left she was fired. so none of the rest of us gals dare to try this and another thing is she has pulled her power whip out telling us our sick days are limited to 6 a year, if we go over that amount we shall be fired and yet one of the gentelemen has gone way above that limit and he remains on the job.

I really am interested in Psychology and how the mind works, yet I keep getting pushed in the Social Work direction because at my school, it only takes you a year after your bachelor's degree to get an MSW, as opposed to a PhD. in Psychology that would take me anywhere from 8-10 years to earn. I'd also like to make the most logical choice considering that I want to start a family and yet maintain my career. Any advice?

This woman I work with is a total pothead, and I know for a fact she starts smoking as soon as she gets in the car to go home, does it a few times every night, and sometimes on the way to work. Basically, she's almost always high. I'm not normally anal about what people do with their lives, but the main thing here is that I work in a preschool and she is responsible for caring for about ten 2 year olds all day, that's why this bothers me. I don't feel like it's fair that these parents are dropping their kids off at our center and putting them in the care of this girl and have no idea. Do I have a right to tell my boss? The people that work around this girl all know it also, but they're all good friends, so they don't say anything.

I turned in applications and I never got calls from them, then I heard that you're the one that's supposed to call them, so I don't know what to do. Because I wouldn't know what to say when I'd call them, like "Hello, I want a job" ??
