This employer seems to thrive on degrading the women, as to where she seems a bit weary of the men. Some of the male employees have gotten irratated and walked off the job more than once, but yet were allowed to come back to work with a raise, but when one of the women left she was fired. so none of the rest of us gals dare to try this and another thing is she has pulled her power whip out telling us our sick days are limited to 6 a year, if we go over that amount we shall be fired and yet one of the gentelemen has gone way above that limit and he remains on the job.

You did not say if yours was a little or big company.

Little company , suck it up while you job hunt for a good job.

Big company, report her to HR for abusive & discriminatory practices (shows favoritism towards males)

If HR fails to rectify the problem - try the state labor board but they usually have few rules about just being jerks (maybe because the planet is full of them)
They usually just cover discrimination based on race, religion and gender (although this is a perverse form of reverse gender bias)

If you think that your employer is not complying with the labor law in your state, head over to your state's website ( http://www.state.ny.us [New York] , http://www.state.tx.us [Texas], http://www.state.ca.us [California] etc. Just put your state's 2 letter postal code in) and locate the labor board link.

There will be information there on how to file a complaint.

Be aware, however, that 'degrading' isn't really covered under most states' labor laws, and neither is how your employer treats other employees.

Have any of you kept a record of when and what was said, if not start doing it for 2 wks. Then tell him if he doesn't curtail his behavior you are going to his supervisor and file charges that he has violated the law preventing creating a hostile work enviornment AND harrassment. Seriously. Then see an atty. they won't chg, it will be a class action suit and contingency pay.Stuart is wrong.

You don't say what state you live in. However, if you think you have a legitimate complaint contact your nearest Equal Employment Opportunity office (on the Federal level), and/or your state employment office.

This might be harassment, but LOL proving it.

Time to update your resume and move on.
Don't quit "cold", you might not be eligible for unemployment, and what would you do for money until you got a new job.

Good luck! Yea, I worked for my share of a--holes.Often, they're left where they are because whoever hired them doesn't want to admit he made a mistake.

Why would you want to work for a place like this? Surely you can find something better. Just quit
