Reference USA is an online resource available only through libraries colleges and universities etc. I use my library card to get there. Once there I do business search , then detailed business search. This will allow you to create your own search form for specific business types. This site does NOT list actual jobs but will tell you the companies that have the type of work you may be looking for,,,companies that may not EVER use any of the other sites,,, companies you may not even know exist.
Each business type has a 6 digit code called an SIC code or standard industry code. By logging all SIC codes that apply to industries that you are versed or interested in you can them search by county, state, nationwide or just in your own town for businesses that may need your services. The ability to create your own search form is GREAT!!! You can even search by mile radius from your own home!
Once you have narrowed down several possible companies you can go to a more detailed search mode that will tell you number of employees, number of locations, dun and bradstreet credit rating, type of ownership or corporation, when the company was founded, and OFTEN WHO THE HR REP IS!!!!! This data is all available for free and when you have all that info right there you will be well on your way to researching the company thereby giving yourself a HUGE leg up against all your competitors for the jobs.
The site also usually provides phone numbers, fax numbers, email addresses and websites for you to check as well. Very few people have ever even heard of reference USA and even unemployment offices are starting to use it!
I get to reference usa by going to my local library website then going to fast facts and it is listed among many other online resources. Call your local library and ask a reference librarian if they have it. It will take a few minutes to get the hang of making your own search forms but you will likely turn up many businesses you didnt even know offered jobs in your fields. I LOVE REF USA,,, it KIKS
Zilla says,,, "Give it a try & use it in with some of the other more common sites."
