Take classes in Web management. There are lots of companies all over that are Microsoft licensed, for example. Understanding networking and learning how to set up & manage websites is big I think.

Also, becoming a hardware tech is good $$. This experience is needed in all small & large local computer stores.

start up your own business, you don't really need a heavy investment for this. for instance, you can start by creating websites for companies, or make some revenue by hosting your own site and letting other people advertise on it.
