On Friday I learned my lesson.
I got hired on the spot by an owner of a local business.
Since I did not expect to get hired, I forgot to ask his name.
Even worse, I did not fill any paperwork, and the owner said that he is going away , but I should come in on Monday anyway.
He did introduce me to a few employees, but not the manager.
I am pretty sure that he let the management know that I will come in on Monday, but since I do not know his name, what do I say?

"Hi, I am a new employee. Where should I start?"
Should I ask for a manager?
I learned my lesson to be more attentive next time.
:-)

Congratulations on your new job. You may be able to get the owners name from your local town hall, or even by researching the business on the Internet.

If he introduced you to several of the other employees, you can mention this fact to the receptionist when you go in on Monday.

I am sure that the employees you were introduced to will know that you have been hired by the owner, what other reason would he have been introducing you for.

You could even call your new place of employment, if it is open over the weekend, and tell the person you talk to that you were hired by the owner and want to know who you will be talking to when you go in to work on Monday.
That would be completely acceptable.

If the owner did not give you his name, he most likely just forgot to in the moment, and there is a good chance that this has happened before.

Good luck and congratulations again.

Call and ask the manager if possible. Did they tell you what time to show up? I would get there early and be finding things out.

Stand up and address the Receptionist, announce your name and that you are here to begin orientation for the position you were hired. That is enough information for them. Be positive. Smile. Relax.
