Well, I was forced to resign from my job the other day which I had high ambitions of being hired on as a full-time career employee. I got into an accident on the job, and in the position I was in, I was not allowed to get into such accidents at all. I am devastated. One man who I worked with reccommended that I go to church and find a "nice guy" as if that would solve all of my problems. Did I just flash back to the 1950s when a woman should just find a man and settle down? Somebody help with suggestions or advice or personal stories about job loss etc so I can feel better. This situation sucks really bad. Thanks.

Well Iam sure church couldn't hurt but no you don't have to go find anybody to support you if you don't want to. Pick your self up dust your self off look and see what jobs you can do and go find another career. I am in the process of changing jobs right now. I worked for this company for 8 years now enduring many layoffs hoping to gain enough seinority that I would eventually I would be able to eventually work year round. Well sales have took a nose dive, the company hasan't hired many other people in the last 8 years and the people above me are not going anywhere. So I am still stuck where I was 8 years ago. So Iam going back out on the road truck driving again. I was a driver 14 years ago but I got so depressed and gained so much weight ( which I never really lost) I am a little concerned about going out again. Only dirrerance is now I have had somebody in my life for the last 12 years so hopefully this time it will be dirrerance. Keep you chin up, and good luck. :)

You shouldn't go to church to find a "nice guy" You should go to church to establish a relationship with Jesus Christ and let him bring you a "nice guy." You can do so many things..you have so many options..You can go find a better job or you can even stay at home and start your own business. I am opening a licensed child care center out of my home and I will be making anywhere from 1000 to 2000 dollars a week. Find what you love and go for it :)

This makes no sense. Accidents are just that, no one is at fault is was simply an accident. Sounds like your ex employer forced you to resign because if you collect Workman's compensation their rates are going to go up. You need to consult a lawyer.

I'd sue the company for forcing you to quit because they didn't want to have to pay workman's comp.

well you could go to church to calm down.......and then you can think about your situation and about the options you have ..believe me you can think better when you calm down and what better place to do so than church.
