I'm strongly considering making a career transition into the industry. I have a bachelor degree and am almost fully bilingual in Spanish after 4 years of language classes in HS and college. The dilemma is which insurance field to enter? I'm leaning towards Health and Life, but I'd appreciate insights.

I havent exactly been getting along super with my employer, I work nights and in the morning the girl that comes in said I didn't set something up that I was supposed to and asked me to correct it, I was tired and she is not even supposed to be there but comes in early and I told her "thats not my job" and then argued with her in front of customers, shes not my boss but still probably told my boss. I come in today and my hours have been cut to 6 hours per day from 8 which not many people would work and I probably will quit but im wandering if this is a way they are trying to make me quit??

I was counseled for call offs (9 within the last year) and was told that if I were to call off within my probationary period, that my position will be taken from me. I had to call off within my probationary period due to my daughter having a seizure for the first time. We took her to the E.R., was there all night, and was told by the physician to follow up with her physician in the morning. I had gotten a call from my supervisor that day, and was told over the phone that my position was taken away and was offered to another employee.

I had an interview earlier this week for a small company. Today, I got a call telling me to "come in at 8:00 on Monday". He mentioned he didn't know I had already had an interview. My interviewer (earlier in the week) mentioned that there were 2 other candidates, but they didn't look very promising. So, the man who told me to come in at 8:00 Monday also said it was a part-time position that may become full time. The current person in the position will be training me. Does all this mean I got the job???? He didn't mention pay although I put on my application what I wanted (the interviewer didn't sould like my figure would be a problem). What are you guys' insight on this??

Most jobs require a minimum amount of 10,000ksph. I don't know what mine is, but I type (alpha) about 60 to 80wpm, depending on how good of a typing day it is. Doesn't tell me what the ksph is, though. Also, is this used as a gauge for alpha or numeric? I get confused when I see a data entry job (usually it states 'alpha')...doing something like entering application information. Mostly text and few numbers...yet they require a certain amount of ksph. No 'math' formula for determining ksph from wpm...since different words have different numbers of letters, of course. Thanks. :-)

I've been working at this office for a month and there's this older,"mean" woman I work with who's irritable and condesending towards me.I don't get much help from her and I avoid going to her at all cost, though we work the same dept, because it bothers her so much BUT everytime I go to the nicer, patient woman with a work related issue the "mean" lady, though I wasn't addressing her, will annoyingly intervene and answer my query. So basically if I ask for work related assistance she gets annoyed and if I leave her alone and go to another for assistance she gets annoyed.WHY?! It's a no win situation with her!!She's even openly critized my work behind my back leaving me feeling somewhat paranoid. What is she telling the manager when I'm not around? I heard she didn't even call me by name when she critized me, she referred to me as "that one" which really insulted me.Too sensitive?Should I go to my manager about this even though I'm new or give it time?Is it ok to tell "mean" lady 2 chill?
