I havent exactly been getting along super with my employer, I work nights and in the morning the girl that comes in said I didn't set something up that I was supposed to and asked me to correct it, I was tired and she is not even supposed to be there but comes in early and I told her "thats not my job" and then argued with her in front of customers, shes not my boss but still probably told my boss. I come in today and my hours have been cut to 6 hours per day from 8 which not many people would work and I probably will quit but im wandering if this is a way they are trying to make me quit??

Sounds like they want you out. Also, if you work less than 40 hours a week, you lose your benefits.

It's possible. It's easier for a company to have their employers quit rather then firing them. When you fire someone you need to have adequate proof that the firing is legitimate. Also, when you get fired you are eligble for unemployment benefits, which will look bad on the company. So, I've heard in instances where there were people that "bosses" or higher ups didn't like, they would cut their hours, or, put them on crappy shifts or make their lives unpleasant. If you like your job, stick with it, or try and make a case that they are harassing you.

Absolutely. They try to force you out of there. Don't let them satisfied. Stay where you are. You are not going to quit before you find a BETTER job !! You will face hotter situation soon, but if you are mature enough, you will never make them happy with it. You must stand up to the heat. Remember the quiter Ross Perot, a world famous loser. Stay where you are. btw, I faced a similar situation in another company years ago. I didn't lose the game.

I'm really sorry to hear that. It stinks when you are treated that way. I'd use the extra 2 hours to get another job. If you can afford not to go to work now, I would quit today and start looking, unfortunately that's not always an option.

Yes. Do what the others suggest. Stay there for now - find a better job and then walk out.

The same thing happened to me and it can be grounds for a lawsuit. I didnt do that - I just walked out.

With your free time, start looking for a new job - a better one. Quit your job AFTER you find a new one. Just keep your mouth shut during the process.

Arguing with other employees in front of customers is a no-no.

You are lucky you weren't fired on the spot.
