So I just watched The Transporter and the BMW movies The Hire (look it up on youtube, they're badass) and I was wondering if you could actually do such a thing for a career. If you're unaware of what these movies are about, it's pretty much a driver for hire. He can drive people, transport packages, anything that requires good driving and reliability. I just want to know if a person could actually do this.

My friend has been at this new firm for five months and still does not have an actual job. She just trains for another's position, and replaces them for the required term, then trains for another and replaces them. This is not through a temp agency and this type of position was not discussed at hire. She was permantly, full time employed. She was offended by being called 'the relief' after all this time.
Any suggestions or experiences you have will be appreciated.

(In most of the big Companies)

I've been in the middle east in the early eighties, and started working as an electrical and electronic technician. the company is owned by a family that are members of the ruling elites. but the experience of being horrified by just observing who are being designated as managers is too baffling. at first, I thought that those people are properly educated. but if I choosed to become a moron and not able to discover at least something, then it would have been better for me. however, I refused to. and found out later that, those who pretended on expertly knowing his job and had the loudest voice could always become a manager, regardless of your IQ. (where on earth have you seen an engineer who doesn't know the composition of water? and it was also the first time I met a mechanical engineer who can't read and determine values! and only in the later stage you will realize, that they are all having masters degree from Romania with their distinctive deploma.

Has anyone heard of this company and know about that summer internship where you sell stuff door-to-door?
I was approached by people who wants to see if I'm interested in working in that internship and I just want to know if they are legit.
I mean, I've visited their site and all... but you can't be too careful with this type of stuff... I just want to make sure its not a fake internship or anything.
If you've worked there before, share your experience, please?
:-)

If you feel you wish her as your boss your probably not alone.
I hear she has her own Restaurant. She's not even an Adult.
She probably will run the entire business as a young Adult.
All the makings of a good boss as well. Do stars make naturally good bosses?

So I live in washington state. I've been doing mostly lame paper pushing office jobs most of my life, but I'm looking for a career change, and have been thinking about construction because I've been hearing its possible to move up fast and be making pretty decent (like $30+ an hour) in just a few years.

I also talked to a guy who told me all about prevailing wages in the construction business, and says that he got hired with almost no experience to a company that is paying him prevailing wages 8 months out of the year. However when I talked to the boss of the company, he didn't seem interested in hiring me with no official experience, despite all my personal construction experience.

So I'm wondering, is it likely to be able to find a job that offers prevailing wages, with my lack of experience. And if so, do you know any good tips to help me in my search?

I was dragged against my will today to a party for this jewelry company. There I was forced to daun gaudy jewelry and hear this seemingly endless pitch about the company. After a while I started listening, and it made a ton of sense. Throw parties, sell stuff, get paid.

Is it really all that great? Which one would be best? I don't need to make a living off of it, but maybe to earn some extra cash on the side of a job I plan to have someday.

thanks.

Ok, i just found a contract job thru a recruiter, but 5 weeks thru my employment, the company wants to hire me permanently. But again there is a clause in my contract which states
" Except with the prior, express, written consent of TechHigh, during the term of this Agreement and for three hundred sixty five (365) days following its termination, Sub-Contractor agrees not to compete with TechHigh in the business of engaging contractors to perform services for any of TechHigh’s Clients for whom the Sub-Contractor has known through TechHigh or has provided services and Sub-Contractor agrees neither to offer nor provide services under any agreement signed by and between TechHigh and TechHigh's Clients during the term of this Agreement and for three hundred sixty five (365) days following its termination except when termination is a result of TechHigh's breach of contract ". that means i have to wait 365 days to hire by this company. pls help

I was fired from my first job in PR and my second job as an editorial assistant for a magazine. I worked hard in both jobs taking work home as well as working and thinking ahead and was well liked by everyone. I have a new job as a production assistant which im positive I won't get fired from because I work one on one with my boss, but my love and goal for the past 12 years is to be a magazine writer and now Im just to scared to try office work again, but don't want to freelance. I just am asking how do I get over this fear and how do I NOT GET FIRED AGAIN. What are some tips you can give this young professional.
