I had my first interview for a team lead position at Target Distribution Center yesterday. I was wondering if anyone knew how long it normally takes to get called back for a second interview if they're going to call back? Also, should one of those thankyou notes be sent everytime? I was going to send one but couldnt remember the names of the 2 guys that interviewed me.

What are the consquences if somone from your company a large Fortune 100 finds your resume on say Monster.com? My boss just told me they found mine and did it in a non-chalant maner. They can't fire you because you can sue for wrongfull termination right?

Let me tell you what happen. I did numerous job interviews with this company. Apperantly they liked me because they keep calling me after i had the first interview and i liked them. So finally they called me and told me that they were looking to hire me and they gave me a date that they were thinking would be appropriate start date but they said they needed some information and their home office had to approve the information before i start. One of the information they requested was to send them a pay stub from my current employer but at the application i have a different pay rate then what is on my paystub. The amount included on my application i make only on sundays. the rest of the days i make less then what it shows. I send them the pay stub with an explanation that there is a bonus involved at the end of the year to make up for the other days but have not heard from them since. Well it only been 3 days so i dont know what to do. Should i call them, wait or move on its over

I went to school to become a dental assistant. I graduated in October '06... but I hate it.....The doctors are rude, they make me nervous....I'm afraid of getting fired....but I feel like I have no choice....I did this because I found out I was pregnant and needed to get to a career fast....and be financially stable for my son...but I have no confidence in this field....... the school i went to was crap (bryman) they didn't teach me enough....but had a 3.0 gpa.....so I know I was a good student and paid attention..do I just suck it up, and hope I'll like it? I really don't want to go back to school...

I haven't had any prior experience and have not gone to a bartending school. But I've heard that sometimes restaurants will hire and train you. I'd like to avoid working in a club or a straight up bar if possible. But interested in any openings in Dallas or suburb (Lewisville, Frisco, Addison, etc).

My work is relocating to Orange County, I live in El Segundo. I had the opportiuty to go to Orange County. But I feel the commute would be too far to be away from my 4 kids, that go to 3 different schools. I was asked to write a resignation letter and to train another person to take my place? My boss said, if I don't write the letter or train the other person, I would not get my last pay check and I would get a bad reference, and I might not be able to collect unemployment. Can my boss do what she said, she would do?.

I wasn't working for awhile-medical reasons. And now I've been interviewing since I'm over my sickness. But my ex-employer is giving me a bad reference. I did excellent work there, never got write ups, and was told all the time that if it wasn't for me, they would have to close their doors (which they did 5 months after I left). I left my last job because I was sick, there was nothing I can do. And it seems like all the interviewers understand that part. But I haven't gotten any jobs or call backs for second interviews if there are any. I had someone call my ex-employer to see what they were saying. It turns out they were saying that I had taken them to the labor board, in a derogatory way, and not saying anything else. I did have to but that was because they refused me my vacation pay after I left, and I did end up winning in the dispute. So should I start bringing up all of this in the interview on my own or if the person brings up references? Should I take legal action?

My problem is that I consistently fail background checks because I have moved around a lot and have gone to about 7 colleges and lived in 12 homes in the last 10 years(I flip homes, not rent). Each background checker calls up a ex boss or College and they never can match the dates correctly or the credits are off or the GPA's for each school don't quite add up, the numbers get messed up and I am unable to pass. Why is getting the exact date of employment or exact GPA or exactly where you lived so important? I have never failed a drug test or have a conviction but I always get an email back saying that "you have falsified information" that is not TRUE. What can be done? I have been accepted to 8 jobs and they said as long as your background check goes through your hired. I tell them upfront, and then 1 week later say sorry, you didn't pass. Am i now unemployable? What are my rights? Any companies only check for drugs and criminal history??

I have checked and double checked info

Here is what is happening to me.I changed retailer about 8 months ago because they promise a work life balance. That even if I was salaried I would only have to work 45 hours a week max 50. Ever since I started I have been working 55+ hours. When I decide to discuss this with my store manager about work life balance my work life became hell. She started to complain about my performance. Even though I did everything she asked it wasn’t good enough. My problem only got worse when I tried to go above her. She is friends with everyone in the local district area. I am the sole income of my family and I made a career change because of there promises. Know they are trying to get rid of there thorn (me) by putting my performance corrective. Since my issues started with my manager I have kept a daily journal that explains the daily harassment, along with the actual hours I worked.
can i get unemployment when I get fired?

I've been filling out applications for a couple months. I've tried talking to managers directly, telling them how hard I will work, and they just hand me applications. I'm a college student making real good grades yet I can't get a job. All my previous employers would probably have real good things to say about me except for one, which I usually don't put as a reference. Is there a trick I'm missing or am I just unlucky?
