It is a respectable job. You are making a honest living. You be the best in whatever you do. so if you have a job as a lead janitor then be the best at it. Who knows where that job can lead to. You can get promoted or start your own janitor business from this experience. This job might have a good benefits package. A Job as a janitor does not define who you are. Your actions do.

I was a janitor working for someone else and ended up owning my own janitorial company, which I retired from. Would you classify that as a respectable job? I would. I'm not even 50 yet.

Think what would happen if the janitors all did not show up for a week.

And if you are in charge, thin what would happen if no one told the new guys what to do.

You did not get the job based on good looks. You got it cause you know what to do, and what needs to be done. Is that important? Frigging YES!

And I would like to say thanks to all the janitors out there. We don't say it often, but without you we would live in squalor. Thanks for taking care of us!

there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. i am a janitor, and when i first started my job, i hardly told anyone what i did for a living. now that i have acquired a better salary and a respect for the work that i do, i have no problem telling people who look at me funny where to stick it.

Well personally I wouldn't want to tell my children that I was a janitor etc. but someone has to do it, and without janitors the world would be a very messy place (I'm just going to assume that people aren't just going to suddenly get neat, tidy and clean), so it is still technically a respectable job, it just deends on the way you look at it.

Any job that you put your heart into is a respectable job. If you do your job and don't slack at it, put 100% of your effort into it, you will be respected for the work you do no matter what your job is. Be proud of who you are and what you do.

You can do anything you set your mind to do and you can be very good at it.
