ofcourse, it's safe to buy on the net. Just be sure to buy of legit sites.

buying from sites like ebay, rediff, sify would mean that the deal is between the buyer and the seller, so if the seller is a cheat there is nothing much that can be done. But in this case since the seller wants a D.D, then he will have to provide you with his name maybe his account no and also the address to send the draft too, so you have enough data on hand to file a police complaint in case you've been cheated.

Rs 400/- for a home theatre seem like a definite cheat deal, but that's for you to decide.

DO NOT TRUST INTERNET COMMERCE IN INDIA.

sorry my friends, but there are too many people involved in online (and offline) scams in india to even begin to think about trusting them.

internet commerce was not designed for india's unethical business environment and inefficient court system. it was designed for sincere, trustworthy Western businesses that were already established, already had a customer base, and were looking to use their trustworthy reputation to expand to people who aren't within driving distance from their stores.

only because of the interpersonal honest and trust in the West and the supportive judicial system do we have a dynamic online marketplace.

india is not ready for it. buyer beware.
