I have my resume everywhere online, and still no replies. My resume does not look bad, I have had it professionally critiqued but I still have had no luck. When I graduate, I will be broke and will not move back in with my parents. What works when looking for a job. I have been looking for over a month now and am more stressed out than ever.

It's online, but have you submitted it to employers? They do not always look through the thousands of resumes, a lot of them want you to take the initiative and show interest first. Try submitting it to a few companies, whose jobs you qualify for. Try Monster and Career Builder, I have had great success with both.

Unfortunately, job opportunities are all about the region that you live in. But one thing that you may be doing wrong is waiting for the opportunities to come your way, instead of going out and finding them. Just posting your resume on-line is generally not enough to constitute a real job search. Oh, job searches are generally much longer than a month, even in a very active labor market. Plus, you can always temp while job-hunting... So take the pressure off yourself!

1 - find specific employers in the area you will live after graduating, and check their web sites for "job opportunities" or "employment", etc. Most employers are good about keeping these up-to-date these days.

2 - check the local papers; many now allow you search job classifieds online for key words in your area.

Good luck with the job hunt!

Unfortunately, simply posting your resume online will not result in any job offers (unless you have extensive experience in a very hard to find skill). You must actively seek and apply for job openings.

This means you have to be really organized in your search efforts and have a definite plan to follow. There are lots of ways to find job openings you can apply for, but you do have to be proactive. There are many, many job search advice sites on the Web that can explain the various steps required to find a job quickly, so do your homework and check them out. Listed below is a good one to start with.

Good luck in your job search efforts.

So, is it that you are not getting any inquiries on your resume? Then fix that; is it that you are not getting interviews? Then work on responding to the intial screening call. Is it that you are not getting any offers? Then your interview skills need help.

Also, since this seems to be a dire situation for you, you need to relax. Employers are not looking for desperate people. Think about getting a paid internship and figuring out a way to make ends meet; or work on a contract basis while still looking for full time employment
